#SaveMultiversus is trending. I dunno how likely that is to affect anything, but hey, in four months, if there's enough of a stink made, anything could be possible.

I DID see this screenshot while scrolling through. Probably coping and not actually true but it does sound like an interesting theory

Wouldn’t You Like To Know?
Hearing Freddy Krueger was ready for the roster hurts my soul. Really is such a shame that had they charged 60$ and unlocked the whole roster, we wouldn't have had to deal with as many awful micro transactions and they would've had the funds to actually develop the game.

Stuff is coming out about the management of the project, which isn't surprising. The biggest red flag I can think of was when the devs were making statements about how they could see themselves adding characters to it for decades, before the actual game was released. They really thought this would be a slam dunk.

An statement from Tony himself

Worth reading in my opinion. It even has info on Banana Guard of all things
"produced it over the weekend"
Even with his pre-existing model and MVS's smaller movesets compared to Smash, I doubt BG was that quick of a project. I think I heard somewhere that the Project M dev team made Roy's animations over the course of 500 hours, and being a semiclone, he has his own corner cuts in the form of either having some animations still be directly copied from Marth, or animations that are tweaked Marth ones rather than all-new ones made from scratch.

Then again the tools they used to animate Roy were...primitive compared to what a team using Unreal would use.

The theory isn't that far-fetched considering the one Reddit post says basically the same thing, along with mentioning how WB likes Multiversus as a concept, just not the management.

Of course, if the idea of a WB crossover platform fighter were to be revived in the future, I would try to avoid the Multiversus branding due to the reception it has gotten.

Shame. "Multiversus" is a really good title for a crossover fighter.

I still think Warner Bros might actually be crazy enough to grab MVS' concept and try to apply it to a hero shooter

You might say "why not just do it with DC". I dunno, prob to avoid the obvious Marvel Rivals clone allegations

Seems like a fun idea. Roster would be tough to decide. At the very least, I feel the 10 characters below should definitely be base additions:

1. Batman
2. Superman
3. Wonder Woman
4. The Joker
5. Bugs Bunny
6. Daffy Duck
7. Tom & Jerry
8. Scooby-Doo
9. The Wicked Witch of the West
10. Rick Sanchez

If anyone wants, I can explain why I chose these 10 as a base. If everyone wants, I can also expand this roster to 37 characters, the amount Marvel Rivals has now, while including overlap from Multiversus and Lego Dimensions (note that Gamer Kid (Lego Dimensions character) and Ruby Rose (scrapped Multiversus character) won’t be included. For the former, I want to focus on the Midway Arcade games themselves. For the later, RWBY is no longer Warner property so if a WB hero shooter came out, it’d be highly unlikely she’d be included.

God no, everyone does shooters. That’s part of what made MVS special, that it was a different genre.
