I've come to expect baffling Nintendo decisions at certain points so the tech demo you pay for basically got a shrug out of me. Without a Reggie to convince higher ups to include it with the system (like he did for Wii Sports in the US) you get stuff like this.
As far as the game prices, its distressing news, but I've also become someone playing more indie games on the Switch anyway, so this'll basically be me becoming a bit more selective with first party selections and really paying attention to digital sales from indie companies and third parties.
Mario Kart World looks incredible, though having so many mooks and Kongs just feels silly. Hopefully the Treehouse and further announcements will shed some light on the roster and (as someone not buying Switch 2 till DK Bonanza's release at the earliest) I might just ended up waiting to see what updates it gets.
With regard to Smash I think it's way too early to make hard pronouncements about sequel releases. I was not expecting anything this year even before the Air Riders reveal as given MK World's release, it makes far more sense to have SSB6 late next year at the earliest. Let MK, Pokémon, DK, and others drive this year's stuff and then go big with something like a Smash sequel in 2026 or 2027.
