I love how Captain Falcon's contribution to Smash and the notion that Sakurai clearly expresses an intent or desire to add in more F-Zero content is irrelevant (this may be a result of Falcon's overt popularity). Another potential newcomer? I mean if it was only the Melee cut-scene, I could describe it as purely coincidental. The assist trophy of Samurai Goroh is another significant thing that gives him an advantage over the competition. Black Shadow is that perfect replacement for Ganondorf's old move-set. Sakurai also tends to add a lot of neat F-Zero stages into the game. The point is that there is a lot that can be done with the series. It doesn't matter if it is a dead series or whatever. I mean we got Lucas, albeit the situation was not as exaggerated, we still got a meaningless character to represent a series just because Sakurai wanted to add one. He doesn't just sit down and go... "hmm, who has made a recent appearance? I can only add someone who has had a game this year, otherwise it has to be one of those popular predictions on Smashboards, they sure do know who has what potential".

Oh, so I'm stupid, now? Why do you have to turn misunderstandings into arguments, dude? About games you don't play?

Here's go over this again from a history perspective:
Captain Falcon was originally planned to be the mascot of the Super Nintendo. He wasn't, so instead he was featured in F-Zero along with some other characters.
He's the only significant F-Zero character in F-Zero GX. So by this logic, it should be just him.
Until you play every game in smash, get out of this thread.:troll:

Yes, because you believe you have to play a game in order to predict characters from it. By your logic, one would have to play Donkey Kong Country in order to know Diddy is next in line, or have to play Mega Man in order to know it's the next Third-Party.

He's the only significant F-Zero character in F-Zero GX. So by this logic, it should be just him.
I may have not played F-Zero, but I know that F-Zero GX is not the only installment nor is it the most significant. Are you saying we shouldn't have Lucas, because he wasn't important in a separate installment which is only one of 3 in the franchise?

I just really wish we wouldn't be so blind. It's like NOTHING matters when something isn't recent. Even if it's so important to Nintendo's history and still being revived and referenced in different ways. Just because it recently hasn't gotten a full brand new title.
There's a difference between representing a classic series with Smash Bros and shoe-horning an uninteresting, unpopular character from a limbo series.

We're not saying it's only recency killing it. There are several factors that make it appear to be a bad idea.

Also, Saturn, don't insult people over stupid ****. It's making you look bad.

It's not because it isn't recent. It's because there is literally no point in adding a character from a series that is in limbo. It's not a retro series either, so it's a series that could be passed over, with few people crying foul.

Not to mention, SEVERAL other characters are easily more unique than an F-Zero character such as Goroh. He's a fat samurai. I'd rather have a fat crocodile with an arsenal of weapons, a goddess with light powers, a purple space dragon, the ultimate life form of pokemon, a guy with a giant glowy sword, and a few other people before him.
Personally I'm hoping for that dude that chucks magic rocks at people too. And a short boxer. I already got the Super Fighting Robot.

Also did anyone hear that they are starting a Mega Man X comic book series too? With the original Mega Man comic still going strong. I'm pretty freaking excited for it.

It makes me wonder how crazy Smashboards would be with out the Pic of the Day, it might have even been worse then prebrawl.

On the topic of Snake, I felt he was a much needed approach to get even more people to buy Smash Bros. Before then, you could easily say Nintendo's franchises and Metal Gear would never mix well together. Yet, with that bold move by Sakurai and Kojima, they really made Brawl a hit, even if it has competitive flaws.

I'm sure that without the Daily Pictures, we'd invent the technology to punch people through the internet by now. And we would all thank Fire Emblem for it. So many busted lips. Well that's how I see it anyway.

Yes there is. And I'm currently talking about representing a classic series. One which is constantly referenced and ported by Nintendo and is missing a vitally important character (which is fairly popular by the way).

We're not saying it's only recency killing it. There are several factors that make it appear to be a bad idea.

Hey remember that Fire Emblem conversation we had a couple weeks ago where you started insulting me over stupid ****? :troll:

Hey remember every single argument you've gotten into where you started insulting people over stupid ****? No? Of course you don't. :smirk:

God I saw a perfect picture relating to that that would make a perfect clincher here...oh well. :p That would be every blogger's wet dream though. :p

F-Zero having a new game probably doesn't mean anything considering how much love Sakurai gives to F-Zero.

Not to mention he glorified how overdue Samurai Goroh's appearance as something more significant in Smash was in the details on the Dojo. Also, could you please be here for me more often. :p

On a scale of 10 to 11, 10 being awesome, 11 being super awesome, how awesome is he?

Now? I thought it was always, am I right? :awesome: Also, it wouldn't feel the same without Danny narrating every movement you take...and those hilarious screams.

You know what, okay. Samurai Goroh is so important, he needs to be in Smash Bros. I don't know why it means so much to you, but fine.
You know, Toad is important to his series, too. Yet he isn't playable. Because he isn't in the position for it. Goroh doesn't even meet Sakurai's
criteria for Smashers.

- Must make people want to play/buy the game. The only even remotely popular F-Zero character is Captain Falcon, so he's out here.
- Must be unique. He's a fat samurai. His only occupation is racing. Either he's copying Falcon, meaning a made up martial arts style, or he's another sword-user.
- Must fit into the style of Smash Bros. Mostly opinion, so I don't know.
- Must contribute to game balance. Again, opinion mostly.

But you get the point right? Also, I agree with Scoliosis, you should stop picking fights with people.

And yes, I do like the Ice Climbers, thank you very much!

I just told you why there is. And a series isn't irrelevant because it doesn't have newly made titles. You can say it is but that's simply not true. If a series is still supported or represented through ports or major references than it is still relevant. That's enough for a franchise that is so classic and honored in Nintendo's history not to mention Sakurai's honoring of it.

Not to mention, SEVERAL other characters are easily more unique than an F-Zero character such as Goroh. He's a fat samurai.
Takamaru is a samurai and King K. Rool is fat. Is Fire, Kattanas, Shurikens, and invisibility just suddenly not as unique as another dragon? Cuz Purple.

It's note the argument.
It's the tone you are speaking (err.. Typing?) in. It just sounds mean.
Your augments themselves are not invalid, they are fine.
You can't have a "mean" tone, that is the way you are interpreting his text. That isn't on him, that is on you. Personally, I read it and got the impression that he was humored and laughing at the current situation. A very light-hearted tone.

Picture this.
Harry Mason is playable, and whenever Harry punches someone, you hear Danny say something like, "uhh.. Punch the plumber to your right" or "punch the elf man to your left."
I would buy 10 copies of this.

I wouldn't get a mean tone with someone if it wasn't in respond to a mean tone in the first place @ Kenith Kenith

or a completely hypocritical/ironic accusation. @ Scoliosis Jones Scoliosis Jones

The troll face was just me poking fun because Scoliosis was complaining that I'm getting upset about nothing after he went ape**** one me in that Fire Emblem argument.
