Am I missing something here? Is this whole infatuation with waddle dee cult some kind of joke or do you guys actually love the character that much?

I actually do a lot of stuff with philosophy, apparently it is reflected in the way I write. I have had several professors telling me the same thing.

Goroh doesn't even meet Sakurai's
criteria for Smashers.

Didn't I give you a poll yesterday where Samurai Goroh was C-Tier?

- Must be unique. He's a fat samurai. His only occupation is racing. Either he's copying Falcon, meaning a made up martial arts style, or he's another sword-user.

Well, this one is just blatantly ignorant! What does being a sword user have to do with this? What about the other abilities Samurai's have? Also Samurai Goroh isn't just a racer. If you haven't noticed his name is "SAMURAI Goroh".

So does Takamaru no longer fit Sakurai's criteria? Furthermore how do you know Sakurai doesn't think a Samurai is unique?

And you're the second person to use the "Samurai Goroh is too fat defense" in which case I'd like to refer you to these fine gentlemen here:

- Must fit into the style of Smash Bros. Mostly opinion, so I don't know.
- Must contribute to game balance. Again, opinion mostly.

You can't confirm it doesn't fit another man's criteria based on your opinion.

They are both important characters in important franchises that don't get in because Sakurai doesn't see it fit.

Probably not. But he's a retro, he is an exception.

I was saying the fat part because "samurai" is less specific. It doesn't have any meaning.

Hard to say. I think there's more of a "hope" mentality for Waddle Dee than there is an "expectation" for one like Ridley. When it all comes down to it, Waddle Dee isn't quintessential like Ridley is.

If we're let down in our hopes for Waddle Dee, it'd be in sadness rather than anger.

I would be more livid if he got disconfirmed. At least not making an appearance now would make me have hope for the next one.
