At least Muddy has more merit than Tabuu of all people...I still don't even.
Oh, wow! Now it's in bold! It still doesn't say anything about organization dictating character inclusions.I've been trying different methods of roster organization, this time I went for the Melee approach:
I don't think it looks good at all with so many characters, but what do you guys think?
yes, . . . just this. . .At least Muddy has more merit than Tabuu of all people...
But Lip probably fits into the obscure character category for western gamers.Does Lip really count as a retro character though? Her last game was for the DS/DSiware after all and it was even localized (Although she was dummied out from the international versions)
Plus the Panel de Pon series has gotten an entry on every major Nintendo console since the SNES except the Wii U/3DS (as of yet). Even more still is that almost all of them were localized in some shape or form, something that most niche games can't brag about (Puyo Pop):
SNES: Panel de Pon (Localized as Tetris Attack)
N64: Pokemon Puzzle League (Cancelled Panel de Pon 64, but the series was so popular NOA picked it up)
GB: Pokemon Puzzle Challege (Cancelled Panel de Pon GB, see above)
Gamecube: Nintendo Puzzle Collection (Only one USA/Europe didn't get, remake of cancelled PdP64 and direct sequel to original)
GBA: Panel de Pon Advance (Features Lip's theme and other elements from original)
DS/DSiware: Panel de Pon DS (Features Lip herself but she was removed from the international versions)
That's 6 games total; 1 entry per console and it's Nintendo's biggest puzzle series after Dr. Mario. I don't think Panel de Pon/Puzzle League is really obscure/retro.
If the organization didn't dictate the character choices then I don't see why you countered character choice criticism with "It's just like that because organization".It didn't dictate the choices, I've posted my regular roster before:
I've just been rearranging it in multiple ways. I've always thought Melee's roster to be pretty jumbled too, what with Ganondorf next to Falcon.
Because the organization doesn't dictate the choices, like I already said. My choices are no different than the usual, I was asking what people thought of the organization, not the choices.Oh, wow! Now it's in bold! It still doesn't say anything about organization dictating character inclusions.
I never said that. He said something about the choices when I wasn't asking about the choices. I responded by asking if he even read what I posted in the first place, which apparently, no one but Platinum and Neon did.If the organization didn't dictate the character choices then I don't see why you countered character choice criticism with "It's just like that because organization".

True. But most western players have played her games without even knowing it, something the Fire Emblem series couldn't brag about before Melee. But Lip probably fits into the obscure character category for western gamers.
fixed it for yaNew Topic : Chibi Robo.
Because we all love Chibi Robo, right? RIGHT?!
Oh,hello, average teenage school girl in skirtsHow's this for a retro character?
Ayumi Tachibana from the Famicom Detective Club series
Really mature, Saturn. Solid argument/10.
Popular and unique Boss/Villian from extremely popular Nintendo game created by Sakurai > Overly obscure and unpopular character with nothing but an unpopular gameboy game and virtual console re release.yes, . . . just this. . .
True. But most western players have played her games without even knowing it, something the Fire Emblem series couldn't brag about before Melee.
It's not that, cause I mean technically, no one has a move set until they are given one. When a character has no move set, it's hilarious watching how hard Smash fans will try to create one.
Popular is a bit pushing it, don't you think?Popular and unique Boss/Villian from extremely popular Nintendo game created by Sakurai > Overly obscure and unpopular character with nothing but an unpopular gameboy game and virtual console re release.
Why would organization be relevant to including a 4th SF over a 2nd F-Zero then?It didn't dictate the choices, I've posted my regular roster before:
Did you ignore where I said this was about the organization?2nd F-Zero > 4th Star Fox
True, but that was pretty much the only case of it being jumbled, and even then Ganondorf was still adjacent to the Zelda row and next to the character he shared a moveset with. If this was Melee-styled, why are several series still vertical, why is no multi-character series other than KI completely horizontal?I've just been rearranging it in multiple ways. I've always thought Melee's roster to be pretty jumbled too, what with Ganondorf next to Falcon.
you got proof mate, last I heard no one liked the existence of tabuu, and is more unique than a barrowing mechanic too, when all he has are generic abilities?Popular and unique Boss/Villian from extremely popular Nintendo game
Pushing doesn't have arms in the words,so no.Popular is a bit pushing it, don't you think?
Fixed! Not very well known and meh/generic abilities Boss/Villian from extremely popular Nintendo game created by Sakurai > Overly obscure and unpopular character with nothing but an unpopular gameboy game and virtual console re release.
Because you were totally being mature with the facepalm gif. Also are you new here or is this the first time you've seen somebody post a laugh gif?Really mature, Saturn. Solid argument/10.
'scuse me?Tabuu was an unpopular
Source? Also so is Muddy Mole.one-shot
loling right now.generic
Because Sakurai cares about the Smash fans that ***** about Toon Link and all that.doomsday villain from what many consider to be one big waste of time
BARELY! Also why does retro make you higher priority than any character?Muddy is a retro with decent popularity
Oh, that's cool. Tabuu was in one of SAKURAI'S masterpieces.was known for starring in one of Miyamoto's hidden gems
Not as much as Tabuu I'm afraid.and offers uniqueness that Sakurai is (especially now) looking for.
Hades also fits that description.Popular and unique Boss/Villian from extremely popular Nintendo game created by Sakurai > Overly obscure and unpopular character with nothing but an unpopular gameboy game and virtual console re release.
Ok, there's some confusion here. I posted it with the intent to get feedback on the organization, not what choices I picked. He responded to it saying something about the choices, to which I reminded him what I was asking about in the first place. I wasn't using the organization as an excuse for the characters, I was pointing out that I had never asked about characters in the first place. Why would organization be relevant to including a 4th SF over a 2nd F-Zero then?
Eh... Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic actually started out as a Mario title, then the Yume Kōjō mascots were added, and then it was changed back into a Mario title... Kinda a long story, you can read more on that here:
This game was bragging about it before Panel de Pon
Or, or... something better. If you want a Tabuu-like character then Marx or Magolor would be good.
I already knew that but does it really count if when it had Mario characters it was really nothing more than a conceptual design.Eh... Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic actually started out as a Mario title, then the Yume Kōjō mascots were added, and then it was changed back into a Mario title... Not sure what it has to do with Panel de Pon though.
MY BODY IS READY.Oh, boy. It's that time of the day where smashboards users start bias flame wars about characters they don't want.
because you know, that happens twenty four/ seven because of a magical word called opinion of what they think, and everyone thinks tabuu is a bad choice,Oh, boy. It's that time of the day where smashboards users start bias flame wars about characters they don't want.
Lip is a plausible character, the thing is we can't figure out most of her specials, her B ^ To be specific.
Well that's damn clever idea, so good yet so obvious.
She could fly/hover using her pet bird/fairy/thing and have it attack opponents in the process.
and we are now back to your regularly scheduled program.huh, looks like crashboards are over now . . .
