On the other end of the spectrum, I love Sword of Doom II. I explained why on Dustloop but I'll paste it here after. That being said, s'all opinions anyway.

Yeeeah, I just really dislike SoD2. The original was easily one of my favourite songs in BB, and this new one doesn't cut it for me. The vocals feel all wrong, and the F-Zero guitar is like, "what were you thinking?"

Bah, grump grump.

I can't get enough of Sword of Doom II. So, so good. Really like how it changed with the character development. At this point, it should be called Sword of Salvation.

I'm not a big fan of the mechanized, vocaloid-ish stuff. That's probably why I prefer SoD2 over the original, personally.

All of the other remixes that I've heard so far? Ehhhhhh. I really can't get into 'em. =/

I like the F-Zero guitar, it's a big change from the old one, so I can understand disappointment there, but why keep the vocals?

Never cared for Bullet Dance, so the new one is meh too.

I really like Gale II and Blood Pain II. I also think Tao's new song is a great improvement(even if a bit Sonic-y, but that's nothing new to Daisuke)

I don't think I like either soundtrack more than the other, there are plenty that I like about as much as the old songs or more, some a little disappointing. I'm excited for the change honestly, it's appropriate with how much BBCP has changed.

It's not that I dislike the new tracks intensely or anything. They're just...different. They don't jump out and grab you like the old ones did, y'know?

Nevertheless, I'm still hyped for the soundtrack. I really hope Arc includes it in the console release of CP.

The new songs aren't exactly bad (at least most of them) but some of the changes just feel out of place, like the drums and weird techno-esque stuff in Rachel's remix. It's a good song but it just doesn't fit Rachel imo.

Either way, I'm still hyped for the remixes so I don't have to spend another year+ listening to the old songs all of the time. They'll become white noise for the most part after a month or so anyways, I hardly ever notice them now in arcade videos even.

Oh shiza, the board's back! I have to say, Sword of Doom 2 is absolutely amazing.

Edit: Oops, I got the thread mixed up and posted P4A stuff here, lol. D'oi.

That'll be helpful for threads like these where we're constantly linking to videos. Hopefully they don't remove it later. :dizzy:

Hopefully SWF doesn't forget to make collapse tags working again. I always hated SRK threads that had loads of YT videos embedded in the same post.

I just need to know if Sword of Salvation has the Final Fantasy riff.

I'd really like to find some actual rips of the new Versus themes, but that seems almost impossible. Unless they're hiding...I may not just be looking in the right places, but I've been searching for the Relius vs. Valk theme for AGES now. Seems like it's just not around. I remember hearing it on one video a couple months ago, but it wasn't loud enough to pick up much.

No idea about the versus themes but Izayoi's is named Justice Sword, Bullet's is Spirit of Fire and Amane's is 舞神, whatever that means.

I see the kanji for Dance and God. I guess it'll be something around those lines, just less literal.

I believe that roughly translates to "Dance of God." The second kanji () is definitely "kami" though.

edit: Welp, ninja'd. :>

That moment where you go "WTF, how did they know THAT?" and then realize a bunch of people in the thread can speak and read Japanese and that some have actually been...dohhh. Reminds me I am SO untraveled via poverty.

@ the first 48 seconds of the first match:

Tager: Hey, Hazama.

Hazama: Yo.

Tager: What'd the five fingers say to the face?

Hazama: Sla---

Tager: GIGANTIC TAGER DRIVERRRRRRRRRR

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Lord of the Dance as a poetic translation. Either that, or we try Divine Dance or Dancing God, but I've heard that Japanese adjectives work somewhat like English.

I haven't even really started learning kanji yet, so many. ;u;

I hope it's "Lord of the Dance" for the obvious irish dancing jokes. Also, Amane is a dancer or something, so that would make sense.

I don't know if it's being "untraveled" or simply educated, lol.

I dunno, has Lyth been to Japan?
I have, once! Back in 2009.

It's a pretty cool place. :3

Well, thanks for letting me know that I wasn't crazy or imagining things with that Lythi, lol. And honestly, to me "God of Dance" would make more sense than "Dance of God" in terms of Amane himself.

I honestly have no idea how to properly read kanjis. That's the only thing I'm yet to master in order to fully understand the language, but I suck at it.

I'm sticking to "Bujin", as it is homonym of 武人, "person of War".
Could also be Bushin tho, homonym of 武神, "God of Martial Arts".

I lived in Animu land for a good majority of my childhood, and I regret never learning the language with all the resources I had. All I wanted to do was play videogames. Look where that got me. I can at least read the kana and understand some spoken speech, but it's so broken. Definitely going back later in my adulthood or something, lol.

I do know that a kanji character can have a butt-load of meanings, and you have to differentiate between them by context and general use. But in games like the Tales series, they go crazy with that stuff for Artes... I just hate studying kanji overall.

Anyway, I can't stop listening to Rachel's new theme. There is just no way it wasn't influence by Sakuraba's work.
