Livewire, how do you miss things like that? I don't get it. :V

It's not so much missing entirely I don't think, as it is looking in the wrong place. Like, I'm used to things of the Overdrive nature being at the bottom of the screen, like with the V-ISM in Alpha 3, the FSE (and however you spell what Yun has) in AE2012, and the HD-Mode in KOFXIII. I was always like "check bottom, check timer, check opponents life to look for differences in damage", lol.

I'm... not even gonna comment on this whole subject, haha.

Anyways, after looking at those videos, I'm still having a hard time finding who to pick. I'm gonna try to at least learn 2 characters (besides Rachel since that's a given). One of them's going to be a new character for sure, while I'm having problems finding a third.

Gonna put in effort too this time since, honestly, I realized I don't even know my optimal combos back in Extend.

You seemed to have some decent fun with Ragna in EX every now and then. Since he's not derp anymore and has some cooler midscreen combos, maybe give him a spin?

It's a possibility. I usually use him on the side since he was easy to fall back to after a hiatus. That might not change.
As of right now, I'm looking at Nu, Relius, Hazama, and Tsubaki for that third slot.

Game's not going to be ported for awhile though, so there's plenty of time to think, I guess.

But that gorillion damage.

Pretty much. I'm actually tempted to learn Jin as well. He does over 5k corner damage with 50 heat. I also heard of a 4k damage reset with 25 meter lol
I'm going to be so sick of Hazama when CP comes out. Well, I'm already kind of tired of him, but at least he's the butt of so many jokes now. :V

Jin is gonna be dumb: 6C > CT > 6C > 6B > j214D > 6C > 214B(1) > 5C > 2C > 6C > OD > hjC > jD > j214C > Super = 7900~ Damage. Four 6Cs in one combo. #BBCP #Jin

That's the color I want to use if I wanted to play Noel.

Freakin' dammit, that Noel was a whole bunch of WTF and facepalms for me.

From halfway across the screen:

Oh, I don't think there's an "almost" in that cringeworthiness, Crusayer. And I agree that some of the Japanese Noels have been odd to watch. But to be fair, most of the Noel stuff I've taken things from are R-2, Shiro...something (the tag R-1 switched to, though I haven't seen stuff from it in a while), Shino, and Takeyama. I don't know, not having the game it's hard to tell sometimes the proper and correct way that she should be used in CP . I mean yeah, watching the videos is one thing, but not being able to physically get my hands on it, is something that makes me wonder more.

R-1 is, like, the mashiest Noel ever. R-2 used to be really good, and you can see moments of it, but he's not as good as he used to be, or he hasn't adapted to CP Noel yet. He mashes drive a lot now too.

I like Takeyama the most at the moment.

I know, and it's always weird because to me it never seemed like..."mashy for the sake of being mashy". There's GUCCI still I believe, and I heard some people mention some guy named Mohe, but I don't think I've seen any of his matches.

Nettopurei tactics~

Actually, I hate most JP Noels so far, they're almost all mashy and random and disrespectful. No fun to watch.
This was basically what I was going to say.

All JP noels are very D mashy, they're just generally smarter about it and can avoid being punished for it more consistently.

I always feel kind of weird when I see Japanese Noel players being D mashy because it's like "well, they get the game way first and they're the good players so they know what they're doing" but on the other hand, for the past months and months, I've been trying to make my Noel less D mashy and use D when necessary. It's kinda got me going "wait...was I doing it closer to right in the first place?".

Yeah, that's not what I was implying. :dizzy:

I suspect it's mostly working so much currently because people are still figuring out what they can and cannot punish. Arcade players are much more respectful than the average netplayer.

Yeah, it most likely has to do with people figuring things out. And really, we don't know if there'll be a patch between now and the console version like KOFXIII had. Still, seeing some things it's like "that...really doesn't look safe" in some instances. It's kind of like hopping onto P4A and seeing Teddie players that just auto-combo, only not at all.

Edit: Also, for those interested apparently, a Youtube channel uploaded some of the CP themes today. http://www.youtube.com/user/AbelcruGamercru/videos?view=0

Sounds like something out of Hard Corps Uprising, imo.

Pretty cool.

Still waiting for someone to show everyone that Izayoi is actually a good character, seeing her at the bottom of every early tier list is strange and kind of hard to believe.

It totally does actually, which is good since Hard Corps Uprising has an awesome soundtrack. I'm totally waiting to hear Mu's new theme though because what I've heard of it playing in matches faintly seems awesome. It actually almost makes me want to sub Mu when CP comes out.

I had similar thoughts, Livewire. The new Mu theme is just too good, especially since the song cuts to the chase this time around.

Meanwhile, Rachel's theme still sounds like something I can picture Project Ali singing.

New Rachel theme sounds like Star Ocean 3 somehow.

After major tournaments, I'm going to try and put some time into this game again. Been playing nothing but P4A, and I want to re-learn Mu since I'm hella rusty with her now, and she looks brain-dead in CP. :3
