Come to Evo for the side tourney, guys.
I'm seriously considering it. Especially since Smash may be getting on as the 8th game. If it's Brawl my chances will skyrocket even more. I'd feel bad though because I'd wanna enter more things than just BlazBlue but I suck at other fighters. Unless I practiced up like, immediately and got good with Yu or Chie or something, then I've got Persona 4.

I know that when I went to WHOBO 3, they had Continuum Shift 2 set up (before it was released for consoles). Would be cool if there was a cabinet for Chrono Phantasma at EVO.

Either way, I'll think about it and see.

Yeah, that makes sense. Hopefully Chronophantasma gets on consoles before then. Extend had around 100 people last year at Evo, I think, so BBCP would bring in a lot more (especially with P4U on the roster). If BBCP isn't out by then, then yeah, it might not be worth the money to go in your case.

I always hear about the awesome side tourneys in EVO and that, but never happen to find footage post-tourney. I'd certainly suggest going if you can, but I know that stuff is not cheap at all, and not feasible for non-passport peeps from the deep north up here, lol.

If you were planning to go though, it's not as if getting a passport is hard or anything.

Oh yeah, totally not. I still have the forms half-filled. I'm admittedly just half lazy about driving up to the city and try to remember where the office is. Plus, the government tends to take long on returning stuff. But I totally should do it so that if I have enough money by then, I could possibly go.

In other words: I agree.

You live in Ottawa man. You live like next door to the passport processing place.

Lol, Lythi actually said the same thing once I think. The truth is, I actually don't live IN Ottawa. I live about 40-45 minutes south of Ottawa in a small town of about 3000-4000 people. Hm...thinking on it, that's still not all that bad.

Which is sad. I've been watching videos for CP, and I'm genuinely wowed by the combat. I swear, each iteration makes it more fun to watch.

If the release date is so far away, would it be worth getting the currently released version? Or should I just like get an arcade stick for Ps3 and practice with it as I doubt I can play BB with a ****ty pad.

This is probably going to sound a bit dumb but...I almost hope BBCP comes out over here AFTER EVO, like late July or August. I'm worried that if it comes out before, it'll negatively impact the P4A entrant numbers because people will start dropping the game and that, with Wiz putting the community on blast, might wind up with us not getting an anime game at EVO again ever. :(

Yeah, that sounds dumb... but the BB/P4 community use to be that negatively impacted with new games...

Are they so different that learning cs will screw me up in cp?

:phone:
IMO you'd be well and away better served with experience with BB even with the changes coming in CP.

It WILL take you time to get acquainted with each character to the point you can decide to main one or two for their playstyle. The characters overall aren't changing too drastically in playstyle: but rather specifics are changing, or moves added.

If the pricetag (probably ~40$ or less these days) on a copy of BBCSEX isn't a prohibiting factor I'd snag it for the practice. It'll take you awhile to get up to speed with everything no matter what you do: might as well already be at a stumbling run in general when the new version hits so you can hit a stride with a character for the first time at the same time everyone else reaches their stride transfering with their own chosen characters.

Did they really change the input of Dead Spike so it's the Hadouken motion? Huh...go figure. That be kinda odd.
Blood Scythe is now the motion that Dead Spike used to be. I used Ragna during the loketests in Japan.

[EDIT]

Thinking about it, it kinda makes sense. What with launching Dead Spike forward and all.

If he has a community already built in place for anime games, getting CS is fine for practice I guess. Otherwise, you might as well just practice other games to get used to fighters in general. From the FG thread, it sounded as if he's coming fresh into the genre with some exp in TvC.

Either get P4A (if europe ever gets it), or play other fighters. There's no point in playing an obsolete game if there's no community. All he'd be practicing at entry level are combos and if none of them work in the next iteration, it'd just be a pain in the *** to relearn the entire game.

Yeah...give it about 6-7 months and it will likely be. Well...RIP to wall bouncing Bloom Trigger. May d.5B and Chamber Shot fill those shoes while you serve a slightly different purpose.

You are right. BB isn't really the hottest stuff around here, but there are a couple players. It's true I would probably just learn some basic combos and waste my time. I'll stick to TvC for the time being.

I'm thinking CP will probably be the full $60, considering it's a completely new game now instead of just an update.
