It is indeed a House of the Dead reference.

Specifically 2 since that's where the boss(es) with a near-identical line debut.
The voice acting in that game has lived rent free in my head for decades.

Like it makes OG Resident Evil 1 look like a Scorsese film.

Honestly this post is indicative of why Mario vs. Sonic matchups always end in a victory for Mario's universe (at least after they stopped counting the Archie stuff). Mario never takes itself seriously and Sonic is kind of a mix of light hearted and serious/edgy. It's like having Goku fight Bugs Bunny, they work on different rule sets.
I mean. Powerscalers generally disagree as Sonic has bigger highs that they like to talk about, with a lot of critcisms being made for how Death Battle generally handles Sonic characters (Trying to claim anything beyond Archie is noncanon, citing Brawl as the definitive source on the blue ****'s max speed being 700 mph instead of Colours where he canonically goes light speed without breaking a swest in base, claiming Shadow loses to Mewtwo due to lack of mental resistances when he canonically has fought psychics and resisted mind control, etc) and with how easily arguable this recent episode is. Mario doesn't fight **** like Solaris on the regular either

There 'are' parts of Sword I like, I'll give credit if nothing else.

Music's great.

I do like a lot of the designs(Mr. Fish go brrrrrrrrr)

It actually had a ****ing Battle Tower unlike Scar/Vio

The characters in the DLC were fun, mainly Mustard and Peony.

But I have soo many cons it's hard to overlook them.
I just really can't get over the story.
Like yeah it's Pokemon the story doesn't need to be amazing or anything but that didn't stop Gen 5, 7 or 9 from being legit great and every other Gen that isn't 6 has a story that's fairly well remembered even if they're basic

Team Yell don't live up to their full potential and yeah everything with Rose lmao
There's a lot to work with there. Take the energy angle but instead of a crisis 1000 years later make it something like Rose has Eternatus locked in a power generator syphoning it's power because he wants to automate it or something and a side effect is the dynamax pokemon rampages (which should also be shown and even serve as boss battles in their own right with raid mechanics) with Macros Cosmos showing up around these events. Then the ending can be that Rose's announcement is that Eternatus has broken free and is wreaking havoc so Leon rushes off for that instead of "hey man the crisis solving can wait until after the final" and it plays out similarly. So now you can work in themes of abusing animals and nature for the sake of power and technology.

On the Team Yell side you really can just... have them do more with them because they're very tame for sports fans. They don't need to go to the other extreme but like, have them passed out after Marnie beats a gym, have more people **** talk Spikemuth because the fans are making a bad impression, hell you can work in sports org corruption by having match fixing going on (esp in Leon's favour if you really want and have it feed into Hop's arc too) and having Marnie fall victim to it which kicks off a near riot. **** you can have it be a case of some Macros Cosmos dude deliberately stirring up a bad crowd in Team Yell to give Spikemuth a bad rep because Piers is against Dynamaxing to make it clear that yeah, a lot of Yell is just very passionate but some do go too far.

I dunno, you're set in a UK region and based the Gyms around football stadiums and have jerseys and the final is literally in Not!Wembley. You can lean more into that angle with the story. Corrupt sports org (that also does some large scale thing in secret because you have to have a higher stakes legendary fight now), fan culture and all that. It's easy to enhance this and make something genuinely good.

Rose when he has to wait one (1) day for Leon to help him with an energy crisis that's a thousand years away because he has to do his job

I like how TerminalMontage depicted the cast of the game with text-to-speech voices
They show just as much emotion as the original lines

All these are fantastic ideas tbh and now I'm sad they're not real.

Sad to see that Kunitsy-Gami: Path of the Goddess didn't quite reach its sales target, but it is great to see that the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Ace Attorney Collection and the Marvel Vs Capcom Fighting Collection are all doing very well.

Now I wonder if there will be any news on that "Pragmata" game?

Ace Attorney is thriving and all of the games are available on modern platforms.

It's time, Capcom, do it you cowards

In Sega delisting news, the Sonic Adventure games are set to be delisted with the other Sega games in December.

However, this only applies to Germany and Italy as of this post. If there are any updates, they will be shared.

Some of the stuff you’re complaining about is stuff they haven’t done in a long time. Their rematch of Mario and Sonic specifically sighted Sonic Colors and they’ve started completely ignoring the Archie stuff because of how different it is from mainline canon (though they have had fights specifically using the Archie versions of both Sonic and Silver, as stated in the title).

I was just giving specific examples, the point is moreso that Sonic's Ls in DB are suspect cause powerscaler nuts generally agree Sonic universe is stronger than Mario's

How much do you want to bet the game awards made DLC remakes and remasters eligible for nomination just so they can keep jrpgs and Nintendo games out of the game of the ward section
I think the real reason is how hot remakes and remasters are doing right now. Like, there's a market for the brand new games but it's becoming harder to ignore how Metroid Prime remaster and RE4 remake are two of the most acclaimed games of the last year.

The Sonic Adventure games aren't listed on SEGA's upcoming Xbox delistings (at least in America) but I should probably get them very soon just in case.

But first I'll see if they'll go on Black Friday sale.

Hard to tell, but will find out soon once the nominations list have been unveiled.

The only thing which I can see being announced during the game awards that comes in mind is a Mai Shiranui gameplay trailer reveal with date for Street Fighter 6.

I would love to see another character reveal or something relating to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves too.

Hey, I've got 2 drawing cooked up this week. Here's an original one. I wanted to draw Daisuke again, so I did. I admit to slowing down my work output since some IRL stuff has come up recently, and I am hoping early next year, things will turn around again. But I obviously need more than just that hope.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

I might also add Bluesky to the sites I use for posting my art.

It's less that and more so that they can gas up Elden Ring again I feel. But since there's an "Ongoing Content" Category, it feels pointless to me IMO.

TGA Game of the Year nominees are in:

Astro Bot
Balatro
Black Myth Wukong
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Metaphor Refantazio

Edit: My two cents is that I never played any of these games.

Also, I’m not a fan of the Elden Ring DLC being there (I feel DLC should get a separate category and not be tied to GOTY).

And, although I enjoy the game, I feel Multiversus should not be up for Best Fighting Game again. Not only because it won two years ago, but I feel there are other fighting games that deserve the recognition too (DBZ Sparkling Zero anyone? Then again, I haven’t played that either (I’m not a Dragon Ball fan so probably never will)).

who gave this giant brick sentience? is it angry because all of its efforts to move are futile? does it rise in an attempt to attain true freedom, a dream to roam in any direction, just to have its literal weight drag its dreams back down to the ground?

and more importantly, how do they reproduce? :jojo:
