Also I know there wasn't that many massive releases this year
I just realized this is why they decided DLC/compilations/remakesters/etc. were now eligible for awards the games themselves were supposed to get.

Pekora being nominated is cool and she fully deserves it but 1000 bucks says she's only nominated because Kojima likes her

Also I know there wasn't that many massive releases this year, but was that the best they could really do for TGA?

I see at least 5 Mickey Mouse wins.
Nah there were plenty of big releases, Geoff's just a hack and didn't want to acknowledge that Sega would realistically have the most nominations this year. Shadow and Persona snubbed as a whole, Infinite Wealth snubbed for GotY in favour of Wukong, Takaya Kuroda and Dawn Bennett not acknowledged in favour of 3 white women (also John Eric Bentley should be the FF nom over Briana White), IW soundtrack blows everything else out the water etc.

To be honest I don’t really care about the award show part. Not anymore. I just want to see the announcements. Though with how they’ve been tracking over the years, I doubt we’ll get anything other than realistic shooters. Some of them sci-fi, some of them not. Some of them live services, some of them not.

I know I already jokes about, but Multiversus being nominated for fighting game of the year when it took them a beta and 4 seasons worth of content to add Short Hops and a Shield button is...

hmmmm

Edit: it also already won in 2022 why is it there again?

I still don't understand Avatar style bending. It's a special power you're born with, but you can only use it if you train in these special martial arts and certain moves cause different effects. I just... don't get it. I's get it if the martial arts were just to make controlling it easier, but you can't seam to do any elemental manipulation at all unless you learn the techniques. But if it's all in the technique then why does it still have the blood component? It just doesn't make sense to me.

People are born with it, and some people have more of a natural talent than others. But it takes refining and training to do anything really impressive.

A bender can bend without training. Someone with a novice level of skill could move some water or rocks around, but it wouldn't be controlled or especially effective, and they probably couldn't fight with it. Someone who's a bit more of a prodigee could pull some fancier moves all on their own, but there's still only so far you can go without training.

Nooo, the characters can bend even without the martial arts but without training it’s more raw and unrefined, like Katara in the first episode. The martial arts were made to help harness that power into a concrete technique. And it’s not the only method, aside from the badger-moles, Toph was entirely self taught.

OK. That makes more sense.

Fair Enough, this explains a ton.

Least you’re not at the “conceptualizing a platform fighter for this company” level of obsessed like I am
