The initial shock of the prices are starting to wear off. Still not psyched about them but Kart World looks absolutely astounding and Donkey Kong…

I’m jealous of you. How are you able to just… be happy about this. I see all the things that I think should be there but aren’t and I get upset. You see the things that are there and they excite you and you’re happy. How do you do that. I want to do that. I don’t want to be a miserable cynic.

I mean. Let's be real, this is Mario Kart, it's not like a fighting game where every character needs to stand out, just have some fun animations and voice lines while slapping some arbitrary stat differences among the weight classes and you're set

Depending on how Free Roam works, it can give a healthier competitive aspect with friends, the way they showed off online I can easily see people going "Hey I found a shortcut the other day, follow me, I wanna even out the playing field and show it"

It’s definitely gonna prevent my family from wanting to play it on the couch with me, I know that much. I hope there’s some way to turn it off and just warp from track to track, but knowing Nintendo there won’t be.

I think there’s gonna be another direct sometime in June, after the console’s launch. We still don’t have any fall or holiday games announced for Switch 2, this direct was mostly focused on launch day and a month afterwards.

Really? You don’t think sooner? The system launches in July and Donkey Kong: Mario Edition launches the next month. You’ed think They’ed tell us more sooner.

I just got my tax returns made some huge credit card payments last month, and if everything goes to plan I should be able to make some more big ones in June.

On one hand, I really don't want to add more to my debt when I'm already trying to so aggressively pay it off.

But on the other hand, I should have more then enough credit to put the Switch 2 on card...but I shouldn't.

It could be sooner, but June is the usual slot for these things. However this hasn’t been a traditional year direct wise so who knows? I just think we’re getting some more announcements for fall games later on.

Well Mario Odyssey is one of my favorite games of all time, so if that team is making this then I’m stoked about that. It also kinda reminds me of Forgotten Land, which I adore. And as an animation fan the aesthetic and expressiveness is delightful to look at.

I will admit that I’m a bit disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be any sign of Cranky, or Diddy, or Dixie, or Funky, or god forbid the Kremlings. But that’s not enough to ruin the game for me.

I’m already sold on the gameplay before I even know about it. The concept of DK yearning for the mines is hilarious to me. And I’m just happy to see a new monkey game after all these years.

I think it's very possible Diddy and Kranky will make appearances in the new DK, probably as minor roles or in updates. I can't help but think of Luigi's Balloon World.

Funky and Dixie I think are less likely but far from impossible.

I just… I don’t know. I’m so good damn inconsistent because sometimes I can’t get into something I like the characters/setting/story in something because I don’t like the gameplay and sometimes I can’t get behind the story/characters/setting so the gameplay doesn’t hype me up like it otherwise would have and I don’t know what to do.

Idk how this gameplay will go for me. The only sandbox platformers I really enjoy are the banjo games. I’ve tried others but they just don’t hit the same spot. I tried odyssey and didn’t really like it because the worlds, to me, felt boring and generic and had like no memorable characters in them besides Pauline. There were character species but not characters. And this looks to be more like that except you’re digging under the ground so like… it’s kind of an open experience I guess which is weird and I don’t know. I’m just ranting at this point. I don’t know what to do. I guess I wait to see more but will that really help if I don’t vibe with the concept? Also he looks like a Mario character now and it sucks.
