Honestly I was hoping this would get me an answer about how that’s not actually a problem because of “this” so this response is… worrying.

Price aside, the Switch 2 actually looks pretty neat. Games look super fun as well. Also crazy how it took them so long to add extremely basic features like proper voice chat and a headphone jack in a controller.

Yeah. It’s ok to be disappointed by I don’t need to wallow in it or make my disappointment other people’s problems. Idk. Maybe my opinion will change as we see more. But optimism is hard.

The Switch 2 stuff looks so good, but Being reminded that Capitalism is still a thing and that we live in hell is not fun.

Anywho, a few thoughts:

- Mario Kart World looks incredible. The aesthetic is perfect and I love how character outfits are a thing now. Free roaming is going to be so much fun to mess around with.

- 1080p and up to 120 FPS on handheld is nuts. It sucks that we're back to an LCD screen but HDR makes up for it a little. 4K support when docked is also nice.

- Switch 1 upgrades were expected, but it's nice to see visual and performance enhancements for stuff like BotW/TotK (even showing off the infamous chugging in the Korok Forest). Hopefully it's not too expensive to upgrade.

- Bravely Default HD was a very welcome surprise even if I think it could do with more changes to the visuals. It still resembles a 3DS game a little too much.

- GameCube NSO is sick and at least we finally got Wind Waker lol. Three games at launch is a tad weak but at least cool stuff is coming like Path of Radiance and Chibi Robo.

- Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2 is awesome but I think I'll stick to playing the game on PS5. Might snag a Luke and Kimberly amiibo though.

- I still can't believe that two of my biggest "dream games", Metroid Prime 4 and Kirby Air Ride 2 are actually happening and releasing this year. Regarding the latter, it's really cool to see Sakurai return to his boy.

- 3D DK looks super fun! I was initially disappointed with the new DK design but it's starting to grow on me now with how goofy his expressions are.

Overall I think it was a very solid showing. $450 is about what I expected to pay for the system so I can't say that I'm too disappointed, but the price point on some of the games has soured my mood quite a bit.

Still gonna try to cop day one if I can though.

Well said. Give your feelings some time. These past few hours have been wild and our feelings have been everywhere.

And yeah...optimism can be hard. I won't lie, sometimes I feel really scared, anxious and depressed. But I do my best to hide those feelings and try to support others. ...It's slightly unhealthy, yeah, I have trouble valuing myself. But I just like seeing other people feeling good.

The only reason I would be able to “afford” this system is because I am not currently paying rent. They really need to bring the price down.
