Sonic has less problems on Frigate than most people. We don need no ledges, we can be relatively safe on the right side of the first stage. 2nd stage is sort of anti-CG, so help us. The random platforms on the side can be KO places, but they can also safe the opponent. It's a bit neutral I say. BTW, stage turnaround is no problem for Sonic, when it turns I always do one jump, always end up in the middle.
True but if you play the stage long enough you can memorize the patterns on when it switches and you can see it coming.

X5, Frigate Orpheon switches whenever it feels like it AFAIK, it has no set pattern.

Frigate Orpheon will go neutral at worst, it really screws your opponent much more than it would for Sonic, simply put. As long as you make yourself comfortable on Frigate, you can't go wrong. Granted, there are better specific maps to take certain opponents, but if you're not sure this place out to be just as reliable as any other CP stage you're uncertain of. Just make sure you don't get infinited on the wall when the platform in leveled low that is a humiliating thing, even if it's only for a couple of seconds to fall into.

I would probably rate this map 3.5 just because of Sonic's versatility.

BONUS: Japes - It sucks, ban it if you canl.

I know but I'am talking about seeing at least 3 seconds or so before it happens.

The stage is far to small for my liking.

Also there's an instant kill on that stage. It happened to SS8766. <--(The right number right?)

I find Frigate quite bearable.

Plenty of room to maneuver.

Only bad thing is that it's quite hard to gimp there, especially when the random platforms come out randomly from the sides of the stage and provide safety for characters with bad recoveries.

X5, there is something wrong with the person if they can't tell the stage is going to switch when it goes "*BWUAH BWUAH BWUAH BWUAH BWUAH!* and it flashes yellow when you put it like that.

BTW don't quote my whole post, erase the stuff that pertains only to you, it looks much more professional.

What do you mean unpredictable? The stage always flips to the other one.
I mean by the presiction on where are you going to land? will I make it safe? and probably I hope my opponent doesn't hit me while I'am trying to land safe.

OK...

SonicX580.

Lets clear things up.

Right now, in this thread,

me(thecatinthehat) and (Gf2tw) were arguing with you(SonicX580)

Do you understand this concept?

I think he means just the getting on-topic part.

But seriously now, we just need to wait for Camal to update this thread, since we've all basically said our 2-cents for Frigate.

Frigate is my new CP for tourneys now.

mostly because everyone else hates playing on it so much lol. Right edge is on first stage soooo good for messing up so many characters recoveries.

I usually stick with Yoshi's Island when I fight with Sonic. I'll sometimes mix it up with Corneria, though I'll survive well on most neutral and counterpick stages. FD can be a pain sometimes, but if I'm lucky enough to use the "extra jump" trick I'm fine for the most part.

I hate Yoshi's Island so much. I play really badly on there.

I ban it if I'm not against someone who ***** on Battlefield, everytime.

That's why I'm reminding everybody else X5...

*Cough* Where are you Camal? Take my advice and move this on to Japes so I can argue with whoever is delirious enough to think it has anything good going for Sonic to death.

this is my opinion:

Frigate Orpheon is a decent stage for sonic imo. The only issue most people hate about it would be what? when the stage flips. why? because if they were doing something good the stage transition screws it up sometimes. exactly. We got a platform so we can use that against spammers of lazers. Sonic seems good enough to me to survive in that envrionment, and maybe can take advantage of the stage to gimp below. I'm not saying definate advantage, but if youpractice there, you can counter pick and throw your opponent off, maybe even take advantage during the transitions.

i should work on playing in more stages though.

Hey.

Stop failing in my thread.

It seems like Frigate is just about covered, but I guess I'll give it untill tommorow or something before I move on.

I have a lot of reading to do in the SBR >_>

So, which one should we do next. I'd say we go for Jungle Japes. It's a cool level :D It'd could really work in your favour.

Jungle Japes also has cool background.

JUNGLE JAPES

Discuss

Advantages:
-Opponents with poor horizontal recovery will hate this level.
-Can ASC to the mid platform from the 2 side platforms by just SDR'ing off.
-Makes spamming a bit harder (except for Lasers)

Disadvantages:
-High cealing makes it hard to kill with U-throw/U-air.
-Sonic has decent horizontal recovery, but still won't always make it back.
-Not a lot of space to run around.
