So you can use the lava on Brinstar to cook steak. Trufax.
real post:
- Broken bridge: sides become muuuuch closer.
- Top platform/lower ceiling: U-throw kills muuuch earlier (I forgot if it was 140-150%?)
- Spawn camping: You can get an almost-guaranteed spring on the middle spawn spot of the top platform if the bridge isn't broken. Get rid of invincibility frames :3
- Main platform: You can go through the platform from below. What's cool is you can hide inside the floor because for some reason, the floor blocks you. So you can hide a homing attack in there lol. Sometimes, while performing something like an airdodge or aerial, you'll instantly 'cling' on to the floor instead of flying straight up.
- Airdash!: Break the side platforms and you can create places to airdash. Left platform sets up an airdash that can reach someone standing on the top platform (if you hit them, you'll teleport above them! D-air star KO out of an airdash teleport?!). Right platform is a little lower. On both, if you do a single charge from the bottom, you'll go to the top of the platform then roll off backwards and do an invincible ASC.
- iASC: On the bottom right main platform, you can do an invincible ASC/SDR by doing a side-B on the slight slant.
- Brinstar's bridge can be used as a roll/run punish trap// "IT'S A TRAP!". If you break the sides of the bridge just enough, they can't run or roll over it. You can use this to 'trap' someone into a kill move, like F-smash. For example, if they're on the right side of Brinstar, and you've broken the left side so it's not somewhere they can run over, you can do something like a FF F-air or D-smash to bait a dash attack (depends on character), then charge a F-smash to punish them when they're in the "ahh i ran into a wall" animation. Or if you've broken both sides a bit, then you can charge the smash to punish a roll.
- Killing Link, Lolimar, Ivysaur, and panicked players // Sonic's hellthrow. When the lava is gone, break the bridge to 1-2 rows (D-smash or SDR does it well). Stand on the bridge. Grab, D-throw. 4 cases:
1) You screw up spacing, pop a bubble, and they break out of your grab
2) Bridge doesn't break (maybe due to bridge being too thick), but they fall through the floor anyway.
3) They fall through, but you screwed up timing, and they get saved by lava. :[
4) BEST CASE: the bridge gets destroyed, they are force-fall-released. The level will start to split apart.
Link and tether-exclusive people with bad jumps are pretty much screwed. If your opponent is anything else and performs a non-recovery attack, airdodge or doesn't double jump, he'll fall down.
- Lava // "C4 nightmares" // Cooking the steak. Everyone remember the me vs Fiction's Snake video? If you're off stage, in the gap of the broken bridge, or under the stage with your opponent, float above them and spam double jump. It will interrupt their "OW FIRE" state with a footstool and push them back down.
- Move refresh: Jab the sides or D-tilt the bridge.
- Extended hitbox (F-smash/F-air/U-smash): Hitting stuff puts you in hitlag, and hitlag extends moves' attack effects. There is 'stuff' to hit under the side platforms. You'd be amazed at what you can hit. A spotdodge, an airdodge, a ledgejump/ledgehop timed to go through your normal 'ending lag'... cool stuff.
