I do have that set I posted earlier but livestreams are awful for watching so hopefully it will be YouTube'd. I also played him in pools where I did much better and no two stocks, haha. Johns but it's just really hard playing somebody who has fought your Zelda since the beginning of my Brawl career. I find Meta Knights don't necessarily need to follow Zelda in the air because they can exploit her bad landing options. I also tried so hard to get down tilts but Meta Knight's moves just out-range and out-speed her. My DI is definitely improving a lot too. Another thing is probably my playstyle because I am an extremely aggressive player in a very defensive game...

But thanks for the advice Rizen and Ed and I will try to improve for next time.

I have lots of replays recorded but many of them aren't close games or there was just a bit of sandbagging on my part. It's finals period for most people so a lot of our stronger players couldn't make it and we did see some new faces which is always good. I will do my best to have them all uploaded soon. I do main Peach but haven't used her in ages because I actually do want this place to be a lot more active Plus, I put way more time into Melee anyway.

Having more people talk about Zelda's competitive game and offering critiques can bolster activity. Social discussions here don't last very long and only occur once a week.

After playing P:M so much and then seeing/playing as brawl Zelda, the thing that I always think of first is Usmash's Crazy range in this game

Zelda has tradeoffs on wifi. She's better in some ways like smashes being less punishable, Din's spammable and Uair easier to land. Other ways she's worse like aiming recoveries, landing LKs, Nair canceling, general precision.

She can shut down harder but she also gets shutdown harder herself.

I just make due with what I can get. I lag badly with any player outside Japan. It's fine because with deployment coming up, there are plenty of Sailors that play Smash competitively so that helps me.

Zelda definitely has more results than the other low tiers around her, we definitely could have gone up now that I think about it.

Zelda has tools to work with, bad tools but they're present. She's better than Ganon and Jiggz imo. I don't use Jiggz but my Ganon simply doesn't have the tools to be as effective overall as my Zelda. Ganon can MURDER when he gets a good run but he is shut down too hard with no options short of patience and great reads.

I almost wish I could go back to college. At least then I could pretend the working world was far, far away -- plus I actually like learning stuff (homework is ass though).

I guess my experience at college was different from everyone else, but they don't let you graduate unless you've actually been part of the working world, and by that I mean you either have to work in your field during the summers, or take a year off to do it. I took a year off to work in a full-time professional position doing industrial engineering work, and I worked part time during third and fourth year. Liked it a lot better than being in school.

I've also been living on my own for 3 years, so it's fun to tell people to stick it back where it came from when they act condescending about my graduation.

More colleges should follow that plan. I mean, I worked while I was in college, but it was just retail and work-study and whatnot. Did they have placement programs, or did you have to find those jobs all on your own?

I don't mind working, but job hunting is like going through a ****ing three-ring circus, especially these days. Even for the simplest jobs.

I'm not sure if it can really be called a placement program, because the career centre has a job postings board and a few interview rooms and companies can offer up 1-year contract jobs to be posted there, but you have to apply yourself, interview, etc - you can also find your own placement besides what's posted on the job board. But the 1-year term (usually between third and fourth year) is sanctioned by the school, so you're still registered as a student (you just don't have to take any classes or pay any tuition fees, lol) and they know you're coming back at the end of it, so it's not like they think you're dropping out of school or anything but you pretty much have to do the job hunting yourself.

I've (surprisingly) had a lot of interest in my resume and my portfolio and have had a decent response to my applications, which is seriously lucky because my experience is grotesquely lacking compared to my colleagues in my graduating class. I'm in the running for a position at a company that's actually just down the street from me, 10-15 minutes walking through a really nice neighbourhood, that incorporates my engineering degree and arts background and programming hobbies!
