My program doesn't let me graduate without work experience either which is why I am likely converting to part time studies. After, I need a couple years experience and to take more courses for my designation.

I wish school in California would be as affordable as it is in Canada or Europe. I've been forced to taking on/off part time student route due to being poor and because loans would put me on the street.

Ugh, I know the feeling. :(

It's possible to learn for free but you don't get the school name to back you up.:urg:

That's pretty much how the last year of my undergrad is going, problem being that making money from working >>> the idea of going back to school and having to take out yet another loan, plus the whole process of transferring since I can't afford where I was going before.

The USA needs to invest in education. Sharpen that saw (and not oil it, why are we giving money to oil companies?! Sorry I had to ***** about our priorities :/)
We're in a catch22, huge loans or not have a degree in a bad job market.

It's a shame that the nation that touts itself as the greatest country on the planet allows the bankers, private healthcare, oil companies, insurers and many other business to completely screw over the people while not paying taxes and being granted impunity.

Allowing the upper strata to protect themselves from the rise of educated and financially secure working and middle classes shouldn't be a thing in a country that truly wishes to be at least kinda decent.

I guess a good benefit of the internship program I was in is that the money I made during that internship allowed me to pay off my tuition. But I only pay about 11k a year anyway, school in canada is pretty cheap.

I like how Quebec has the highest tuition in Canada but its still cheaper than tuition in like 42/50 states.

EDIT: I wouldn't be surprised if financial aid and higher education subsidies were a lot more generous than they are in the states too.

Pretty sure it was Quebec with the lowest tuition in the country. They got their tuition raised and made a huge deal even though they would still be paying the least.

But yeah, just work for a company that will pay your tuition. Work experience and free tuition!

You're probably right about Quebec being the cheapest. I just know that the highest tuition in Canada is still lower than tuition in a large portion of American states.

And you also get great vocational training (which is real work experience) in case college doesn't work out for you. The military is a great option but it's not for many unfortunately.

Yeah super respect for being in the military. I don't have the physical strength or the courage to be a part of it.

Well, I started work yesterday. It went pretty well except because some policies of the place don't allow me to use the (pretty expensive) clogs I bought when I was at school, and I slipped twice yesterday and once today. It was incredibly stupid, and dumb.
Now I need to wait for my first pay day so I can buy a new ones... and be careful not to walk with hot stuff nor knives.

As cook (mostly fryer) In a local Mall kitchen, place is called Sanborn's.
Pretty easy job except for that one detail.

Nah, it's the whole thing, but it's quite small, the dining hall and kitchen are bigger than the actual store, and all is inside an already small mall.

Considering they have 4 menus and some venues even have a Distinctive H, I don't think the concept is unthinkable, even though its original concept is being a dept. store.
It still sounds weird though.

Today I got scolded for working too slow and not fully knowing every dish on the menus, but what they expected? There's no guide and I've been there for like 3 days....

EDIT: Also, Happy Birthday, Kyo! (Again - since I said it in PGD too hehe.)

Sanborn's is a Mexican (or I think so, as apparently you don't know them over there) department store which sells pretty much only fancy stuff. There are plenty of them here.
A Distinctive H is an International (I think?) recognition that says a kitchen is clean, by following a bunch (A BUNCH) of hygiene rules. It needs to be checked by a supervisor of a Government Branch, and to be renewed periodically.

How did you guys know? lol
Thank you Klo and Rizen! :)

Happy birthday Kyo!
Wtf is a Sanborn's?
Moderately upscale department store meets Barnes & Noble with a fairly good cafeteria/restaurant thrown in there. I'm pretty sure here are no Sanborn's stores in the US or at least not here in California.

I'm still waiting for my matches to go up against Esam but I fear they may be lost. I will find the streamer and gouge his eyes out lmao!

It's a shame my disc reader broke and I didn't have enough time to set up cheats on USB Loader but if we ever play again, expect videos!

Can you link us to the stream and what time your games are?

I mean, you can still do it, but now they just discuss stuff in the Competitive Brawl forum. A little pointless now too since a) Brawl is pretty much tapped out as far as research is concerned, and b) now that Smash 4 is coming, people are already thinking ahead.
