This is off topic, but I made the thread so I can do this.

I put a little blurb about myself on the 1st page (3rd post) so you can know a little more about me. I'm an unknown player, and I doubt I'm taken seriously (I'll be taken less seriously because of this), so just for what it's worth you can read a little about me. I don't know Fox is a little tricky so if you end up messing up more than your opponent then you suffer big time.

What I would like to imagine is Fox's sliding grab turned into something else of an attac like that. Perhaps the halfway Illusion or grab can be cancelled into a sliding attack. That would be primo.

I'm still trying to figure out if that D-tilt has more uses.

im thinking of completely dropping Falcon......i can win with him, but my falcon wins are too much relied on people underestimating him/me

I use Snake for competitive matches but if I win first round i'll switch it up to Falcon, which im trying to replace with Fox

any cool things i should know, i can jump shine and zero to death my bro's wolf if he's at zero but I don't know much else, any advice?

My advice is to read this thread, and other threads in the Fox forums. That should get you headed in the right direction.

all you see is Dair? are we really that shallow? O.o lol. while Dair is a very important move for combos and such its not all of Fox. Dair sets up alot of Foxs better things but theres more than that. like SHDL/ TL. wheres Bevo or Fenfen, they can explain fox better than me. >.>

Everyone is stupid. Fox isn't just Dair, I don't even use it that much. There are videos of stuff in this thread, or maybe you could try youtube and in the search box type in "SSBB Fox ..." you should get some results there. Basically, all you have to do to learn about a character is read some threads. If you're too lazy to point, click, and read a little. . . I don't know what to tell you.

I think you might have forgotten some, Easily can kill yourself, as in.. FoX-Fire and the [super speed like move i can't think of the name of] and easily end up the main cause of your deaths.

Yet, if you can master these.. You PWN.

Dair> Utilt if done correctly, the first Utilt is usually unescapable. same with Dair >Usmash.

most mediocre Foxes are centered around and only use dair... It's a good move, sure, but you can't use it for EVERY attack....and you can't just rush in and dair any time... that's where a lot of people make mistakes. Fox is MUCH more complex than that, but hasn't truly been fleshed out yet... soon, I hope.

It depends on % for a true combo...

Dair utilt does not combo at 0%, but it starts to combo around 10% and 20%, and then comboes every time after
Dair usmash starts comboing around 80%-100%

So basically, yeah, it is inescapable...just... only at a certain % to start...

I actually approach with nair and fair, I rarely ever approach with dair. Fair is imo a fantastic move, you can even use it in a sh and if you do the boost effect, have no danger of being punished if you di it properly.

Dair should really only be used for punishing, if you land one it just combos into so much. Only bad thing about the move is that it's priority is so low, shine stalling above an opponent can help with this though.

Fair is just too sexy cause you can hit their shield a couple times, and then get the hell outta there! I actually started using it a lot...By the way...As a Fox main, would you find it wierd if I dont use Utilt that much? ._.

I guess it wouldn't exactly be wierd, but up tilt is very useful especially at low percents. Don't use up smash to replace it unless they are within killing range. After a dair or when they are behind you are the best times to use it because up tilt can juggle and comes out fast.

I have this thing with fox...where when i do good with him hes like my best character....but i can only do good with him when im in some sortta hyper type mood....when i use him badly it feels like im not putting moves in fast enough or something

Hello guys, a fairly new Fox here etc.
I was wondering if the dair+shine "combo" really works?
Not SH:d jump or anything, but a normal jump.
For me, atleast it seems to "combo" pretty well, but is there a way for the opponent to DI out of it, or am I just lucky when doing it? Thanks in advance.

i think situationally Dair shine works. i don't try that much. if i Dair i normally follow up with jab>grab or utilt or Jab>Dtilt

I usually u-tilt --> u-smash/left/right-smash after dair at low percents. Guess it works then.

Dair >Dsmash and Usmash work at certain percents on their own. also i'de be careful about Fsmashing. since quick reaction times, or priority ***** characters eat those alive >__>

I used to be really good with Fox on melee. But I haven't purchased brawl yet but I have played it and I notice that some well..... most combos dont work.....

What I want to know is: What do you guys do when the match first starts??? Like, how do you start off the match against Shiek, Pikachu, Pit, Meta Knight, and King Dedede this is not a random list it is who my friends use. What do you to give an early upperhand?

Pit, - Space and approach unless my opponent sucks, then I laser spam
