I'm beast with CF! He's like my third or fourth! Ganon is hecka fun as well!

I've got great news, horrible news, and good news.

The great news is I FINALLY FINISHED MY AND MONKEY'S COMBO VIDEO!

The horrible news is youtube is rejecting it because it is 2:45 min over the limit! :'(

The good news is I can still upload it to The Fox Force website!

I will link it when it's finished uploading, and post a new thread.

This is bugging me, but why isnt fox high tier? There must be a reason to it and i wanna find it out lol. I know it got nerved from Melee, but it's still an awesome character and i find it better than any wolf if Fox is played correctly. What do you guys think?

IDK, Seriously! Have you seen his tourney results in Japan!? They're greeeat! And alot of people are saying that he's underrated.

I think it's just becuase they expect him to be broken like in Melee. But now that people are adjusting to the new Fox, he isn't so bad....

Funny thing happened today.
I was playing Team Battle and there was a Snake and a Pikcahu.
We were on FD.
Ok, they were both at 110%+.
And there was this blast box.

@#

[-]______________________<^>

@ = Pikachu
# = Snake
[-] = BB
<^> = FOX!!!!

Ok so I started shooting the BB hoping for an explosion.
And when Snake/Pikachu both came down everything went BOOOMM!!!!
And I got the Double-KO.
[I curse myself for not getting the replay.]

Lol, what were they both doing in the air in the first place? Didn't they see you were TRYING to splode them? Lol I love when that happens, my friend used to get me with Shiek's vanish when he was next to those things and I stupidly charged in.

Lol Fox kinda is underrated and i hate that alot. In the right hands he is still a terror like in Melee. But really alot more people are starting to use Fox, because before i had al this school issue and i went on here alot there were hardly any Fox mainers. Right now i see alot of them (the picture next to the name :p) and i'm like: ''Will Fox be High Tier?'' He's almost there though, just Olimar and Toon Link before him.

Too many Fox users are overly optimistic. He is clearly NOT a high tier character.
Why? Simple, look at Olimar or look at Lucario. characters who are clearly high tier.

For one their performance is much better than Fox's on paper in in tournament performance.
They also make excellent usage of the defensive strengths for brawl.
What does Fox have? Little.
He isn't diddy with reliable setups to his kill moves.
He isn't like MK with a strong offensive game.
He isn't Marth with a great approaching game.

His weaknesses transferred to this game with his fast falling and he has a very hard time with certain characters (ZSS, pikachu and Sheik off the top of my head).

yeah,, when he punishes a character he punishes them HARD which is something you don't often see in Brawl. The ability to open holes in the opponents defense is small and so the opportunity to bring out his strengths is outweighed by his weaknesses.

This, I have to disagree with. His weaknesses don't outweigh his strengths. The problem is that he is, by most means, average. He has "decent" matchups against most of the crew.

Matchups aren't the only basis for how good a character may be. (though some communities have done so) and the matchups arent cemented yet, primarily because of the meagames youth. By being young I mean overall for all characters not just Fox.

True.(concerning Fox not being high tier)
And that is why you changed your avatar and icon from Fox? Quitter.

You have to admit, Fox is a LITTLE underrated. Bottom of high tier tops. But I think he will stop just below Toon Link (where ever that may be...).

If you want to have some fun with a blast box, walk over to one during a big match > proceed to shoot it to get everyone's attention > start mindgaming them using your Up Taunt. They'll all be like "OH SHI-! FIRE!". It harvests extreme Lolz!!:laugh::laugh:

We're not basing Fox's position just using his match-ups, but more so about his attributes. He has a unique and efficient gimping style when used correctly, and can rack damage fairly well even though he doesn't have significant power. I find ways around this though, and I'm really good at following up my attacks, but generally Foxes have average strength and damage building abilities. His recovery has good range, but it is gimpable, it's not the worst, but it's really not the best. Fox has speed though, and I feel if the majority of Fox players learned to make this a strong factor during gameplay, Fox could possibly be moved up higher. This is true for all characters though, they all have one way of moving up or down the list.

Re: Avatar - I've never changed it ever.
Don't go associating the minority with the overall aspects of humanity. He most likely made a bad mistake (if there is any other kind), not uncommon among humans anyways. Also, avatars are not something someone should memorize, but it's wrong to assume. Main point: Smashbrother made a little mistake, but that doesn't mean you have to lose faith in humanity lol.

EDIT:

Lol I just read the matchup discussion... maybe it's just best to let this one go eh Zammy? Lol...

Fox won't ever move up due to the negative opinion about him around the community. He also has very little tournament play and horrible matchups. He might even drop a little when the next tier list comes out.

I'm actually one of the most optimistic people you will ever hear talk about Fox. I'm just letting you know what the popular opinion is and the real reason for why the higher-ups won't give Fox any love.

Well think about it this way, when we start owning people with lower tiers, it's not only funny, they'll maybe reconsider. I actually love the fact Fox is not overused and godly like I felt he was in Melee, (that kind of came out wrong but I hope you know what I mean) he IS a great character but rarely anyone calls him cheap or broken. (Although I've heard people say he has a broken up-smash...) The Fox community is hopeful and is getting better all the time, I can't wait to see what we keep on coming up with. This is unlike the higher tiers, because the better they get, the more likely they'll be banned. (Unless somehow some corrupt smash-politicians find some way to justify the unfair advantage...)

None of the cast is going to be banned. You all need to realize this and just work on your Fox instead of worrying about MK. There is no unfair advantage, an advantage yes............but nothing you can't overcome with skill.

Fenrir is the only one who's TOO optimistic about Fox. He'll probably wake up Christmas morning and go... hey you know what, Fox can **** Pikachu... here's how....

LMAO. Fenrir didn't even want to give G&W an advantage against us a couple of months ago lol.

I really miss Fenrir not being around so much, with him being caught up in school and what-not.

Yeah. I've said this before; I'll say it again. Even if he was overly optimistic and sometimes wrong, he was a fantastic member of the community. All of his advice was useful, even if it didn't contribute directly to the matchup discussion, and he had a pretty good understanding of Yomi, as well as innovative ways to use Fox.

Fenrir is still around, and he hasn't been around the reason I haven't been around as much myself: End of the semester. That means a bunch of catchup work, and those evil things called Final exams. :(

The issue though is the oppoennts options. How often does Fox gimp the opponent in comparison to characters such as Sonic and MK?
Like I said when Fox hits the opponent he hits ahrd which makes up for his lack of offensive ability somewhat, but the defensive options just outweighs his capabilities.

I think his recovery is ebtter this time around primarily since the game is slower this time around and he has sweetspotting. It can still hinder him though due to predictable trajectory.

A best I see Fox as being upper mid tier. He just doesn't perform as well as high tier characters like Lucario to really say they have similar performance or potential.

Wow, I can feel the love. haha

Haha, nah. Pika, I believe, is a lost cause. I figured out you can escape the cg SLIGHTLY earlier with shine... and that you can tap DI out of his dsmash, but that's an uphill one. lol

LMAO. Fenrir didn't even want to give G&W an advantage against us a couple of months ago lol.

Actually, I was saying 6-4 GW... everybody wanted it 7-3 or worse... and when I can get an usmash on almost everything GW has... doesn't feel that bad. Meh, I've been wrong before, but I like vs GW. lol

And yeah, I'm still around... I just don't have time to post all THAT much right now. finals are next week, and I'm taking 5 classes in engineering. x.x

Well thanks. : )

This is truth. Finals kill me this term

finals are easy. they give you a break from school, and only take up an hour/2 in a day lol
You hush.

But yeah... I really only think Fox has a few BAD matchups, and the rest are decent... I do think he has a good matchup set against the top tier, as I've said before... really even matches across the board...

My main problem is that I can't argue on paper here... statistically, Fox gets put at a disadvantage due to lack of approach options, etc, and I always argue as if the two players met in a tournament.

These are two very different lines of reasoning, and as such, it makes it very hard for me to debate it here. So for now, I prefer to stay away from matchup discussions, and focus more on how a Fox should approach the match.
