Why me? Bart's were of considerable length too. Mine are only so much longer because of all the quote things. Bart's right, it IS always about me!

I have not yet received an avatar opinion here.

Josh, I think he's indicating that he gathers that you're self-centered from your annoying-as-**** tendency to assume that every post is specifically directed towards you.

Also, if you are attempting to change this opinion he has of you, I'm surprised that you'd make statements like
Oh yeah! That must have been him not being clear, because I'm pretty freaking intelligent. But how does me misinterpreting/him miscommunicating mean that I think extremely highly of myself? That's fallible logic.
I mean, you're basically saying "clearly I couldn't have made a mistake, because I'm so intelligent! Tudios must have been unclear."

Also, I find it hilarious that you tell everyone to calm down when you're pretty obviously becoming quite riled up, even over fairly innocuous statements.

Digi, you are clearly too excited, offended, and taking this too seriously. Please, for the benefit of us all, calm down.

What's this about you and choosing anger? Do we need to take this to PM so you can just calm down for a change?

I'm kinda confused, still no one has told me what a panelist is, and I assumed it was best in the region, but i guess i was wrong, that's what i meant by Riot, he is good, thats where he came up...

And about that money match Rage, i need a job xD, though we should totally smash sometime.

So once again, what is a panelist? I may be up for it if it's something i'm interested in

Edit: oh yeah Jem., i have been, trust me, all in good time, Tudios likes and hates my wave shines apparently
Yes I agree you should be a panelist and so should I.

B1NX.
Cmin.
Rage

All 5 of us should be panelists

lol

Anyway I have read the last 5 pages and it is a good topic

I had to win KUMORICON this year I couldn't let you have it for the 4th year in a row Dman.

Wow ok stop arguing on the boards it's ******** secondly on the PR list it seems like we are getting a rediculously long list. I'm gonna have to say it should stay bart binx minh and timmy. We don't need any more than that, and they are all chill and won't try to bone anyone in the power rankings.

It doesn't matter how much you people argue about what, the only way a PR list will come easily is if we figure out who the panelists, and how the players are ranked.

As it stands, t1mmy is the only real panelist as he started what is currently the PR list. I like the idea of each region having a panelist. I would also support the idea of a secondary panelist in case the primary is unable to do any of his jobs.

The PR matches worked very well, the only problem anyone came up with was Aftermath wouldn't play his matches. Although, not participating or sandbagging would reflect on the PR list anyway, so it seems more accurate in a way. Even though he should have been ranked higher, continual PR matches would eventually put him about right on the list as people would propose PR ranking matches against him.

The other view is just to have panelists that know the metagame rank the players as they see fit. This lends itself to bias rather than raw data. Which is why I'm against it. They will base their vote on personality, or what kind of music they like. Even if they do not want to do this, it is still subconscious or questionable. Which is why I am more inclined to accept PR matches.

As for the regions, it really shouldn't be by-the-city because the major events will be in the larger cities. In reality, we only need North, Central & South. Seeing as there are no events in the south, only North & South would really be needed.

Portland (northern) - Minh; Binx(?)/Venus Gospel(?)/Rage(?)
Eugene (central) - t1mmy; t0mmy(?)
Grant's Pass (southern, apostrophe included) - Dirt; Milk(?)

Rage does better in tournaments, but Venus Gospel has probably gotten better as far as skill goes. Either way, it doesn't matter who is better as far as panelists go. What matters is is they know the metagame, attend tournaments in their area consistently, and are active here on the boards. Of course, if they do these things chances are they are really good at playing as well.

If the player listing on the first page is supposed to be a PR list, then it's seriously fuxed XD
But Tommy, your point on the personal bias through "ranking players as the panelists see fit" option is spot on. I'm glad you said it, because I didn't want to bring up any actual arguments(because we know how that would turn out with the people who jump at every chance they get to flame me). If, by an unfortunate turn of events, Oregon goes through with a PR list, I agree - PR matches would be the better option.

Second part goes to PM with you so other parties don't get all flustered.

The reason there are multiple panelists in a system without PR matches is to prevent biases. That's the thing. You want these PR matches to happen for some really weird reason when it's been proven multiple times in many other regions that the panel with voting and opinions of players' improvement and skill is what works.

Also, nobody is going to base their vote on the music that somebody likes. I don't see that sort of thing happening at all, whether it be music or that they just plain don't like a person, with the current ideas of panelists. In fact, from past experiences with YOU, T0mmy, it seems as though YOU'D be the one to vote with bias, and seeing as how you're the one worried about that happening, it's obviously on your mind.

I doubt it. It costs money, and while that is something I do have, I want to focus on school since I'll just be starting at U of O in like 19 days.

19 days from now. SCC is literally the weekend after the start of school xD.

First day of school sucked.

I like how a bunch of people were debating whether who is better, Me or VG.
It doesn't really matter towards being a panelist. The knowlege of the game and being able to see who is better than who is what a panelist needs to be. if the PR works out then I would expect the tournments to probley the biggest factor in who got what spot.
And I would have to say that MCS Would be number 1.
For every torney that MCS has gone to he either won or did the best out of the Oregon smashers.

does anyone disagree?

If Philosophy 101 is "of the Mind and Body," drop that **** asap. It's literally just high school IB Biology again, focusing specifically on the brain and its parts/functions. Should take 102 instead, if that's Mind and Society.

Im glad bart said it, I was going to say it also, the reason you have multiple panalists is so that people have to agree at least somewhat, no matter what it will be relatively fair, besides people would call any of us on BS anyways so who cares. I don't like PR battles, its based on points not tournament success. If you get 1st at every tournament you go to you should be number 1 regardless of how often you play. We should just have an agreed upon period of inactivity before you are removed from the PR or demoted, simple enough.

Just get together an aim group of panelists to vote for the head panelist and discuss the top players in the state, simple stuff really.

Don't put me as a panelist, I'd do terrible, usually the only reason I post on the forums is cus i'm mentioned, and I'm not active here otherwise, considering there's not much going on usually... Anywho, I'll go to the tournaments I feel like, usually I'd just rather chill at home and practice, that's the most fun i get out of it...

So yeah, i'm not up to it, Not like i'm busy or anything, I just don't feel too inclined to be one
