I was being serious. You seriously are underestimating Rou at the moment. I'm not going to say his easily top tier, no. However, even if Roy is low tier, he can easily take on most mid tiers + highs.

There is thinking a character is underrated like I believe Charizard is, and then there is just being a character loyalist to the point where you are almost intentionally being dishonest with yourself. And remember, unless you are a top top player, there ARE Jigglypuffs out there who can wreck you in this game."

The Roy community is incredibly misguided, and it's almost universally agreed to be. It's an echo chamber... A bunch of no-names with maybe one or two notable but insane players who have no idea how the game actually works. From my many interactions with it's members this is just plainly obvious. Anybody who thinks otherwise gets kicked. There's more "cult" then "community" here, and I wish I were joking... I've been given rants about how you have to be "faithful" or whatever to be accepted.

"Roy can beat high tiers" means jack without a definition of high tier. The entire human language is founded on having words or sounds defining things, and without these definitions the entire thing falls apart and we revert to growls and grunts. Without these definitions your words are just noise.

Personally I feel that mid tier is probably the highest roy will ever get solely because of his bad neutral and recovery. Then again, I'd say the same about marth (ableit for different reasons like poor range and bad throws outside of down throw). Pugwest and Mr. E can keep doing well in tournies for all I care, marth is still gonna have flaws that prevent him from surpassing mid tier, and it's the same case for roy if staticmanny (I don't care what his name is now, he's still staticmanny to me) or sethlon get high results at majors. Even if somehow I'd get gud enough to consistently make it out of pools (which I almost did in melee singles when I went to OUTFOXX'D a few months ago) and in the best case scenario I beat dabuz with roy (I say him because roy does pretty well against rosaluma), I still wouldn't put him above mid tier. I just wish that the roy boards were like this, too.

Look okay, i get, Roy has his flaws, i have accepted that and I understand that. I am a realist so I know where your coming from. But the way you are wording things, you almost make is sound like "Why the hell is he here in the first place". You know what one of Roy's biggest flaws is? Under-representation. Yes, that may be due to the fact people are put of by his flaws, but that really should matter since that are a number of other characters that are in a similar situation (or were) and yet people still played them. People were dedicated to the character. If people just gave Roy a chance and learnt how to actually play him, then maybe they would see the good side to him. Roy isn't a straight forward character.

If Roy wants to compete he requires way more effort, yeah, but so does Zelda.

You know, after reading this, I'm starting to wonder if I'm arguing for the sake for arguing.

I mean, I'm not exactly going to 100% okay. However, I'm not disagreeing with you either. Yes, Roy has a lot of flaws to him and is in dire need of some buffs to help him out. But this isn't Brawl or Melee, where the tiers have significant differences. Here, it's more "eh, this is sort of around where X character are, but so could be X character"

In end, I'm bias towards Roy. Yes I now, bad mindset and my arguments are super cruddy and I should stop, but I like the character, so I defend him like anyone would

I'm in the same boat s you TMNT. There's not really anything I'm looking forward to. I'm really only interested in hearing about the NX and how it relates to smash since I'm on the fence with whether or not to pick up a Wii U or wait for the NX. With Nintendo saying that the NX won't get any coverage during E3, it's pretty meh for me.

Yeah, I'm pretty ho-hum too. Already got our one scrap of KH3 2.8 info, Pokemon is cool but the chances of there being something mind-blowing are nearly zero, and Zelda is hard to get excited for while knowing next to nothing on top of my personal feeling that the overworld is going to backfire.

And yet I still can't sleep at all >.> Actually I'm feeling more excited about the Pokken patch then anything else. Braixen I think is getting the biggest buff since the console release by getting new combos off a move. There's a theory that we're getting DLC for Pokken considering the timing of the patch, actually. Though I'm skeptical as usual.
