Link's was only an attack, Scrooge used it for platformingI thought it was more reminiscent of Link's down stab. But Ducktales didn't have a world map or shops where you bought upgrades.

That's because it's a composite game that merges many gameplay elements from various NES platformers.I thought it was more reminiscent of Link's down stab. But Ducktales didn't have a world map or shops where you bought upgrades. I was referring to the overall style of the game.
Of course, combining the greatest parts of DuckTales and Mega Man and Castlevania and Zelda 2!That's because it's a composite game that merges many gameplay elements from various NES platformers.
It's not meant to feel like a single game, but a bunch of them at once.
I personally wouldn't add any indies to Smash yet. I think they should add more well-known third-parties, like Bomberman, Simon Belmont or Rayman. Here's an interesting question-Do you personally believe an indie character is deserving of being a playable Smash character?
I don't know actually... Minecraft's hit Nintendo twice now and is a REALLY REALLY REALLY big deal... And Commander Video has a trophy in-game. Shovel Knight has an Amiibo going for him. Here's an interesting question-Do you personally believe an indie character is deserving of being a playable Smash character?
Fixed because I think all 3 should be in Smash.I personally wouldn't add any indies to Smash yet. I think they should add more well-known third-parties, like Bomberman, Simon Belmont and Rayman.
> Implying The Legend of Zelda will ever get a newcomer.Just talk about Post-BoTW Zelda representation since the last time I saw Zelda discussion was when Tetra was still relevant
I'd have absolutely no qualms with Shovel Knight, Steve and Shantae, although I'm not sure if I'd say Shantae truly deserves it (It'd make her large Smash fanbase happy though and I have no problem with that), but the others definitely qualify for being deserving imo. Here's an interesting question-Do you personally believe an indie character is deserving of being a playable Smash character?
I personally don't count Minecraft as indie anymore now that it's owned by Microsoft.I don't know actually... Minecraft's hit Nintendo twice now and is a REALLY REALLY REALLY big deal... And Commander Video has a trophy in-game. Shovel Knight has an Amiibo going for him.
Shantae, however, is sh**.
He has a soothing voice and narrates everything? :VShovel Knight is like the Morgan Freeman of Indies. :V
For all we know, he could. :VHe has a soothing voice and narrates everything? :V
Not before Springtrap :VIndie discussion?
I can see Sans from Undertale in Smash.
How well did his games do over in Japan? As far as indies are concerned, Shovel Knight is really the only one I can see happening right now. The amiibo, Nintendo publishing the game in Japan, him having great combat potential with his shovel and relics, having what seemed to be a notable ballot push, and his worldwide appeal. Sorry Shantae.
If Five Nights at Freddy's wasn't treated as a mature rated horror show, we'd probably get something more appropriate for the kids to see...Not before Springtrap :V
He already isI can see Sans from Undertale in Smash.
fite me.Shantae, however, is sh**.
Dude, as one of the biggest Zelda detractors on these boards I at least do some efforts to make more elaborated statements. :VShantae, however, is sh**.
Yes she's definitely in the lead in the indie race.fite me.
What y'all got against Shantae and her 4 games all playable on Nintendo consoles, unique transformation gimmick and moveset potential, and notable history with Nintendo? She's one of the indie front-runners and you're all just gonna have to deal with it.
So basically a new Smash re-using Smash WiiU's engine and assets?I'm jumping on the Smash Switch is actually Smash 5 train. I doubt it'll come out this year, and I'm pretty sure it's heavily going to be based on Smash 4, but it will be technically a new game. 2014-2018 is a decent enough gap to launch a new installment, and Nintendo needs to give Arms some time to breathe. We can still wait a year and a half for a new smash imho, if it's as good as it'll probably be on Switch. I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks either way.
Breath of the Wild didn't really give us a character that could be in Smash. The Champions are important, yes, but I doubt one of them would be picked over the others. The Old Man, as appealing as he is, is probably not happening. Impa is elderly again and showed no signs of combative skills like the Impa of Skyward Sword did.> Implying The Legend of Zelda will ever get a newcomer.
This is the sad truth.
Can we at least update their look to BOTW designs? I'm sick of TP LinkClosest thing for Breath of the Wild related would be Ganon with his malice form as a final Smash or something, but that's the closest thing that goes when it comes to characters from Breath of the Wild.
Where probably most likely going to stick with the Twilight Princess + Wind Waker cast again.
Yeah same, I'd like it if they diversified the Zelda cast a little more in terms of design. Toon Link is a step in the right direction as he's pretty much the only character who doesn't use a TP esque design. (As in, at least they didn't create a TP Young Link) Even the Assist Trophies where done nicely where every Zelda character was from a different Zelda game. Can we at least update their look to BOTW designs? I'm sick of TP Link
I like the TP design, but it could use some tweaks. I have no idea why people get so upset about it though. Can we at least update their look to BOTW designs? I'm sick of TP Link
I was a little disappointed when I saw that Link and Zelda kept their Twilight Princess designs in Smash 4. I wanted them updated to Skyward Sword designs, especially Zelda. I adored her Skyward Sword design.Closest thing for Breath of the Wild related would be Ganon with his malice form as a final Smash or something, but that's the closest thing that goes when it comes to characters from Breath of the Wild.

Well, I get what you mean, but really it's down to time management of development. It would probably take too long to make so many different costume alts for 50+ characters and get them all to work in the game, when all that effort could be put in elsewhere. They probably have a certain budget target, as well as a deadline. Making colours as alts is probably just easier and cheaper. Though the shiny Pokémon alts being missing, there's no excuse for that.Smash in general needs to step up the alt costume game. The fact that simple **** like Shiny Pokemon are missing is a joke. Where's Mr. L for Luigi? What about the Cosplay Pikachus? Why no boxing glove DK? Masked Dedede?? So many missed opportunities..
It wouldn't have minded too much if they had made some alternate costumes for DLC, rather than just doing that for the Mii fighters and all.Well, I get what you mean, but really it's down to time management of development. Yeah, sort of like Splatoon 2. I think it's the best way to go, just wait a bit since this year is already full of big guns, and release it in 2018. A remaster in my opinion would be kind of underwhelming. So basically a new Smash re-using Smash WiiU's engine and assets?
One of the reasons I love Zelda's new design is that it reminds me of the Zelda from the 1980s cartoon.Arcadenik you might want to put those under a spoiler or quotation tags, their kind of big....
That said, I do like Zelda's newer design's as well as her ALBW design. I do wish we could have played as one of those sometime. Perhaps they could expand on the alternate costumes a little, at least for Link and Zelda....
Yeah, I can see something like that being possible. It would mean better development for the standard game, and something I could see people buying (as long as it's decent in price, and bundled). There'll likely be moaning from some that it should have been in the game day 1, but meh...It wouldn't have minded too much if they had made some alternate costumes for DLC, rather than just doing that for the Mii fighters and all.
I agree. It's something I've thought about for a few months now, and think it's possible.Yeah, sort of like Splatoon 2. I think it's the best way to go, just wait a bit since this year is already full of big guns, and release it in 2018. A remaster in my opinion would be kind of underwhelming.
In the case of Cosplay Pikachu at least, I think it had more to do with ORAS releasing literally the same day as Smash Wii U. Had there been more time to plan I think we may have seen them. Though now that the Cosplay Pikachu can't transfer to Sun and Moon, maybe a lack of relevance will factor in, sadly. :/Smash in general needs to step up the alt costume game. Kids play FNAF either way, so it's not like something like Springtrap would be too "horror show" for them to see. :VIf Five Nights at Freddy's wasn't treated as a mature rated horror show, we'd probably get something more appropriate for the kids to see...
