I'm surprised that we didn't get a Slime Mii hat to go with the Chocobo one, at least. That just seems like an easy fit.

I'd wager it was to keep things moving along since Cloud was DLC. I could be way off, but I think it would've likely taken them longer to negotiate the rights to another franchise on top of what they were getting from FF. Probably didn't want to spend to more either, if the lack of music is anything to go by, SE must be quite an expensive partner, though that in particular is likely due to paying the composer. Same issue any time SEGA wants to use classic tracks like Green Hill.I'm surprised that we didn't get a Slime Mii hat to go with the Chocobo one, at least. That just seems like an easy fit.
I agree Slime Mii hat would have been great.I'm surprised that we didn't get a Slime Mii hat to go with the Chocobo one, at least. That just seems like an easy fit.
Insert "Why not both?"I'd rather have ATs than mii costumes but cool.
That's actually genius, I'm surprised I haven't seen that brought up before. Overall there were a lot Mii costumes that would've been nice to see, but given how many additional licenses they'd need, I don't blame them for not getting more. We did get a pretty decent amount for the first time they've tried something like this.= Tifa
= Barret
= Sephiroth
Such a missed opportunity.
*No Smash Touryou know what?.. I was looking for some context or timing to say my 'predictions' for a Smash4 port on the Switch.. but I think I gonna say anyway (sorry for invading the conversation >.>);
I think they're gonna go to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe route... (by interpretation of some, can be a generous proposal):
- They gonna blender the 3DS and Wii U versions in some regards (all the stages of Wii U, but not all of the 3DS)..
- Smash Run and Tour will be both present..*
- All the DLC included (with more content for them, like more Street Fighter and Final Fantasy music, trophies, trophy boxes... custom moves for all the downloadable fighters, etc)
- More random Trophies like from Arms, Snipperclips.. maybe Star Fox Zero and most recent Nintendo titles..
- and the new characters would be either Rayman or Bomberman (for me, both are competing for the same slot now), Inkling and maybe a vetern.. being Wolf.
- Newcomers would have their home stages, and I expect a Breath of the Wild stage as well..
YeaahLike this:

I think it does gets it credit, but doesn't sell enough tho almost.Meanwhile, when will Tomb Raider ever get the credit it deserves?
Sure it was original an Enix property years ago, but come on.
I think they won't include all the 3DS stages, 'cause some would be redundant with what we have on Wii U.. like Flat Zone 2 & Flat Zone X, or Golden Plains & Mushroom Kingdom U. --And I don't see Smash Tour going anywhere.. specially with strong multiplayer focus on the Switch design (I used to not like that mode very much, but growed on me)I like this but 2 exceptions.
That will be all.
- The stages should be 50% Wii U/50% 3DS
- No Smash Tour
Right it should been some Wii U stages and some 3DS stages.I think they won't include all the 3DS stages, 'cause some would be redundant with what we have on Wii U.. like Flat Zone 2 & Flat Zone X, or Golden Plains & Mushroom Kingdom U. --And I don't see Smash Tour going anywhere.. specially with strong multiplayer focus on the Switch design (I used to not like that mode very much, but growed on me)
I don't think they'd remove any Wii U stages. They're already in the Wii U version, which is far easier to port over. Honestly I'm not expecting a Switch port to get any 3DS stages, but I do hope for a few (Arena Ferox, Magicant, Pac-Maze, and Prism Tower come to mind).Right it should been some Wii U stages and some 3DS stages.
But I was serious about their being no Smash Tour.
No doubt! and I vastly prefer Smash Run than Smash Tour.. but I don't think they will discard one in favor to another.Frankly, Smash Run would benefit from the Nintendo Switch a lot more.
No Yoshi's Island (Brawl)?I don't think they'd remove any Wii U stages. They're already in the Wii U version, which is far easier to port over. Honestly I'm not expecting a Switch port to get any 3DS stages, but I do hope for a few (Arena Ferox, Magicant, Pac-Maze, and Prism Tower come to mind).
Mehhhhhh.No Yoshi's Island (Brawl)?
One stage they gotta bring back is Corneria. Orbital Gate Assault has it for a time but you truly can't beat it as a standalone stage. The open area at the front, the cave of death at the back, hiding underneath, spiking people into the guns, a true classic.I don't think they'd remove any Wii U stages. I'm still surprised Dreamland 64 was chosen over FoD. The relaxed rising and falling of the platforms and the gorgeous look of the stage make it another must-have.I just want Yoshi's Story (Melee) and FoD. I'd take Brawl Yoshi's Island again tho, still like that stage quite a bit. And a legal Pokefloats.
That was the case, though I doubt that would be an issue nowadays. A lot of current stages in Smash For have a lot more going on than FoD as far as I can tell.I think there might have been frame-rate issues with Fountain of Dreams. Even in Melee, it apparently lagged a lot in four player, especially with characters like the Ice Climbers. (I don't have my copy of Melee on hand to check)
Yeah, and it not like it really matters all in all. Outside of competitive play, the frame rate issues arent so bad as to make the game unplayable or anything lol. Plus for 1v1 it's perfectly fine. FoD is a great stage that I'd love to see return. That was the case, though I doubt that would be an issue nowadays. Agreed. I also want Fourside and Poke Floats back... still baffled how all three were excluded from Smash 4.FoD is a great stage that I'd love to see return.
It's hard to say whether or not they'll actually change them now that they have official English VAs. It's a possibility but I wouldn't say its particularly likely.Bringing a new discussion on a topic which has already been talked a lot, but what do you think are the odds and will get their english dubs by Yuri Lowenthal since Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. and Ray Chase since FE Heroes in the respective order?
The way I see it is this. Prior to Smash 4, Marth never had an international game when a new Smash released, since Shadow Dragon came out after Brawl. During Smash 4, Marth had an international release, but maybe they felt funny having Smash essentially decide Marth's English VA. Now Marth has a canonical English voice, and so does Roy.Bringing a new discussion on a topic which has already been talked a lot, but what do you think are the odds and will get their english dubs by Yuri Lowenthal since Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. and Ray Chase since FE Heroes in the respective order?
I'd personally rather have Sector Z over Corneria imo. Maybe it's just my Smash 64 nostalgia talking but I always kind of enjoyed that version of the Great Fox more over the latter. Also can't help but feel like that stage seems to keep on getting smaller and smaller with every Smash game....One stage they gotta bring back is Corneria. Orbital Gate Assault has it for a time but you truly can't beat it as a standalone stage. The open area at the front, the cave of death at the back, hiding underneath, spiking people into the guns, a true classic.
Corneria, Temple, and Big Blue are stages that should really be in every game from now on as they are truly iconic.
I do hope so.Bringing a new discussion on a topic which has already been talked a lot, but what do you think are the odds and will get their english dubs by Yuri Lowenthal since Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. and Ray Chase since FE Heroes in the respective order?
While I prefer their Japanese voices, I have to say that I agree. However, what I would like them to do in that case, would be to bring back the option to choose between Japanese and English. Maybe even allow us to change each character individually similar to what other games like Ultimate/Marvel vs Capcom 3 allowed.I do hope so.
It doesn't make sense to leave them with Japanese voices now, given that their English VAs are well established.
That would be nice, but give Nintendo's track record, I doubt it.While I prefer their Japanese voices, I have to say that I agree. And quit keeping some music tracks as JP only! I really wanted that remix of Ashley's Song.
That's how Sakurai sees those characters, and only Sakurai's vision matters.Meanwhile, Donkey Kong, Bowser, and Diddy Kong should start using their voice portrayals from the Mario spin-off titles. Most notably, the voice talents of Takashi Nagasako, Kenny James, and Katsumi Suzuki.
Of course, Giga Bowser would keep the realistic roars that he has had since Melee.
It still makes no sense when you consider that Yoshi and Bowser Jr. managed to keep their voice portrayals from the Mario spin-offs. Heck, even the Koopalings use their New Super Mario Bros. Wii voice clips. That's how Sakurai sees those characters, and only Sakurai's vision matters.
