The original intent of the Rambi Box item was actually to include characters like Oatchi as well, but at this point maybe it's just best to assume it summons Rambi exclusively. Anyway, I'd be glad to see any of these. Rayman could probably use a proper AT.

Job 128: Robin

I agree that Fire Emblem is probably due for another character by now, so I think that honor should go to Robin. He's easily the most mechanically fresh character within the series current representation, and Smash doesn't have a whole lot of mages to begin with. Awakening is perhaps the most pivotal game in the series and with three characters in Smash already, I think it's natural we keep at least one of them around. I think Marth / Lyn / Robin makes for a plenty diverse lineup - likely could use another down the line, but for now this is pretty solid.

Job 129: I was also thinking 6 Echo Fighters, so I'm just going to double up on BritishGuy's nomination. That's right in line with the Melee gang.

Cloud Flower (Mario Galaxy)

Will spawn clouds under the fighters that act as extra platforms. They only last a short while and will disappear in the air, so be careful when you stand on them.

Shock Bomb (ARMS)
When hit, it will drop to the ground. It's too big to carry, but thanks to it's ball shape, it can rolled around the stage ala a barrel.

After a period of time, it will detonate. Unlike most bombs however which cause a firey explosion with notable knockback, the Shock Bomb will unleash an electric shockwave that will paralyze anyone in it's radius for a brief period of time.

Muddy Mole
Muddy appears on stage and digs into the ground. He'll appear in a random part of the stage and jump up from and back into the ground and create a pitfall. Every 3rd jump out of 9 he will throw a heavy steel ball which rolls until either it falls off the stage or Muddy spawns another ball, which makes the previous one disappear.

The free bonus submissions will be alts and items again.

We’re definitely due another Fire Emblem character or two. Resting at only two faces, with none from the modern era is a bit silly. Robin is a unique choice with being the only mage. And Byleth is from the most successful game. I’m honestly fine adding both now.

Meta Knight is also a missing veteran. I think he’s earned his place here, and rounds out the Kirby cast nicely.

Mewtwo barely missed this list. I’m all for his return, but I felt like getting Fire Emblem up some fighters was more necessary.

Tails is a fun pick, and while I’d personally lean towards Eggman, Tails’s recovery being just like the games sounds fun. Sonic can have the second character at some point soon.

And then there’s K. Rool. I know he’s one of the most requested fan picks for Ultimate, but I don’t know if I’d prioritise him over the others here, especially with Fire Emblem lacking in fighters.

Job 130: Cloud Sea of Alrest (Xenoblade)

We’re due past stages for Xenoblade and Splatoon. Xenoblade 2 is the most successful game in the series, and does benefit from a stage, and doesn’t hinge on being a grassy stage.

Job 131: Salmonids (Splatoon)

I suppose something from the Splatoon series is warranted besides the Squid Sisters. So I’ve decided to choose the Salmonids.

These will appear in a queue, just like Salmon Run, and make their way across the stage back and forth for a little while. Don’t get too close, or you’ll take damage from them. The order could also be random, consisting mainly of Chums, Smallfrys, and Cohocks.

Would definitely like to lock Mewtwo in sooner than later. Really want to get K. Rool in here before everything is over with but these three feel more crucial right now. Meta Knight takes tertiary priority only because Kirby already has three characters, so bringing these two up to where they should be feels more important. And I'll take Robin over Byleth any day really. Tails is neat but all the essential first parties need to be getting first dibs.

Job 130: Moray Towers

I'm aware this stage is a bit controversial in design, but I think Splatoon ought to have more than one stage. It especially needs one that represents its central focus, which is of course its pvp gameplay. So this seems like kind of a no brainer, unless we come up with a better new stage later.

Job 131: Mother Brain

I would have been open to upgrading her into a boss, but we already voted in Kraid as a boss. So I think she should return as an AT. Would like to come up with a few more creative new ideas but I do think some of the ATs from the real game are great picks that ought to remain in tact.

I’m heavily prioritising getting Xenoblade and Splatoon up to two stages each. These two series only being at one from a new game each feels a bit unfair.

I can let Fountain of Dreams slide, as Kirby is on three right now. But I think five unique Zelda stages is pushing it right now. Maybe later, but not right now.

Fire Emblem needs more content. Black Knight is a nice choice for a returning assist in that regard. Mother Brain I can see happening, as I don’t think three Metroid assists is out of the question.

Splatoon would benefit from a second assist at this point, and the Salmonids were a unique way of showing off another aspect of the series, that being Salmon Run.

Job 132: Noah (Xenoblade 3, 2022)

I think Noah would make for a good contemporary addition. There’s definitely ways to make him unique from other swordfighters.

He can unsheath his Blade to use more powerful attacks after a while, in what would likely be once per stock, and utilise other weapons for singular attacks.

Job 133: Daisy (Super Mario)

Daisy has had a massive boost in relevance since Ultimate released. And at this point, I’m for another Mario character getting in.

It would have been awkward if Robin didn’t win that poll. Anyhow, Ring Fit’s a neat game that could get some representation.

Noah feels like a solid choice, and at that point, I’m satisfied with the Xenoblade characters chosen. Maybe I’ll consider a future echo, but all three mainline games being here just feels right.

As controversial as Byleth initially was, aged well. Three Houses is still a popular pick, and brings in another Switch-era Ultimate veteran.

Spring Man is… okay. He’s kind of the main character? But if we end up bringing Min Min back, I think he’ll get AT’d again.

I’m kind of surprised that Splatoon hasn’t had a boss nominated yet. Let’s give more love to this modern Nintendo series.

We already have Fury Bowser and the Death Egg Robot, so this follows that trend of pre-existing fighters having boss variations.

Plus, it was a natural choice for a more modern series. We ought to have more first party bosses too.

Calamari Inkantation would be a banger track to have play here too.

Ring Fit and ARMS should get dibs as two of the only noteworthy new IPs to come from Nintendo during the Switch era. Ring Fit Trainee also strikes me as someone who could be pretty interesting building off the idea of staying in motion alongside the game's quirky RPG mechanics. If Min Min returns, perhaps there are some adjustments we can make to reel her gimmick in and make her a bit more fun to play / play against. But I think she should return either way, and her kicks and overall theme make her a lot more compelling than Spring Man in my eyes. I don't feel much one way or the other regarding Noah, but why not? I think Xenoblade is fine as is if we'd like to keep it that way, but there's no harm in rounding it out. Byleth gets snubbed because frankly, I just don't care that much for them on their own. If I didn't go for Min Min I may have nominated Edelgard. Anyway, I think Ike should be here before any of that.

All of these are good choices, but Dark Samus feels the most productive right now. Daisy is a sensible pick, especially on the heels of Mario Wonder, and between Lucina and Ken I just like what he offers a bit better. And the thought of Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li all being able to participate is a fun one. But Lucina is a good choice too, I just want to wait and see what happens with Fire Emblem after this current round. I'll probably support her later.

Job 134: Space Invaders

Bringing back this idea. The Invaders spawn in and slowly zig zag their way down while you blast them from below. The fight operates much like the original arcade game, with items spawning in to assist as you traverse a flat plane below, and I think it'd be a fun pseudo minigame and faithful representation of one of the most influential games currently absent from Smash.

I think Rathalos is overdue, and rounds out the third party bosses nicely. But after that, I’m leaning towards first party bosses from that point forward.

If Fury Bowser and Death Egg Robot can be bosses, I don’t see why the Octobot King can’t be either.

Rayquaza is a great Pokémon pick, and is pretty evergreen in my opinion. Fighting Rayquaza on Sky Pillar or the like sounds fun.

I’ll just resubmit the Salmonids. Splatoon earned its second assist, and I don’t really want it to be just another idol group. Salmon Run is an aspect of the series I’d like to see represented.

Why not give Min-Min her home stage? There would be a bowl in the middle of the stage that you can jump in and out of, but it is hard to climb. Getting onto the sides is a smaller fighting space but gets you the high ground.

Pretty big location from the game. Players fight on a crumbling bridge. There are things you can knock fighters through. The big design man himself posed in the background, towering over the stage

I hadn't noticed the trend of playable characters in boss roles - I kinda dig that. Perhaps if Octavio is fighting the Octobot King it's being controlled by an Octarian minion or something. In any case, it's a memorable battle and would make for a cool boss here. Necrozma is a good choice for Pokemon too, and I'd rather not just fall back on Rayquaza from Brawl. Even if that battle is cool, we should come up with new ones.

Job 135: Mallo (Pushmo)

I figured we could use some more nods to series that are unlikely to get a playable character. Pushmo is a fun and oft-forgotten puzzle series, so I think Mallo's presence would be fun and also fairly interesting. He could pull parts of the ground up into rectangular walls, creating new barriers or platforms to influence the stage layout.

I’m kind of third party-d out for now. I’d rather see Game & Watch return right now, with maybe R.O.B. and Ice Climbers following suit.

Game & Watch is a must, Ice Climbers are a pretty valuable gameplay hook to keep around. ROB is just great. I’d love to see any of these three return.

I have no interest in Crash and I don’t especially care for Bayonetta. So this choice was an easy one, and frankly will be kinda upset if they get in this round over these three. Unfortunately I missed the boat on nominations to widen the pool, I probably would have tossed in Wii Fit Trainer, but maybe next time.

I’m especially not compelled by Crash because we already have a western centric platforming mascot newcomer in Rayman. If we’re going to do more third parties we can at least try and be more diverse. Either that or just bring Banjo back instead, he’s a better choice. Bayonetta is justified at this point but I just can’t bring myself to have much of an opinion on her.
