Bump'd my own thread

I updated Smashville and put Yoshi's Island up for debate. I also put Brinstar up for debate because that's been getting a lot of discussion. Please contribute anything about these two stages you'd like, I don't want to get off topic with other stages.

Thats chill... i like yoshis island because even though its abig stage, the main ground isnt all that big compared to other stages, and that makes for a more air based gimp intensive battle. and you can up smash the platform sometimes, and if they block, i believe it can knock them off the platform for a jablock... but i will test this and get back to you. id give it a 2.5 or 3 out of 5

You can seriously **** with some people on BYI. Side B at the very edge has a "cancelled hop" because of how gay the leveling of the floor is, and it is faster than a fully charged Spin Charge, and takes less time.

Fsmashed dipped can hit before people can grab the ledge, and Dsmash at the ledge can throw people off because of Sonic's movement.

You can also Hop Glide when the platform is bent enough, which is a serious mind ****. I seriously think this is one of Sonic's better stages in general. I would avoid I when playing an Mk, Wario, or Jiggs, though.

Well, if you haven't tried it yet, if you grab and D-throw an opponent while you're standing on a 2-block-thick bridge (and sometimes, 3-blocks- a bit of prep required), you'll break the bridge, and the opponent will fall down considerably in the same animation/state as when you grab-release on the edge.

Anyone who panics and up-B's without doublejumping will be screwed and get gimped, since the insides don't have ledges, and also act as walls.

Heck, I panic-gimped a Sonic there >_>

And Luigi's Mansion: F-throw/U-throw (DI read) > jab lock. That's... about the only thing cool you can do there.
Ahhhh... that explains why you picked those two stages in our matches lol :) makes sense now...

As for Yoshi's Island, I'm surprised y'all didn't mention my favourite attribute of this stage as Sonic: wall-jumping. So much fun. Caution though, you can't wall jump near the bottom of the level... you'll notice it visibly changes material halfway down. I still use the walljumps a lot to mess with people, though. For example: practice jumping off the stage, then wall-jumping before you use your second jump. Confuses ppl :) Also, homing attack is awesome here, you can just bounce up the wall.

Do another stage maybs?
Yoshi's Island so we can finish the nuetrals?
Alright, I'll start a summary on that stage. Then whatever I write up will be up to changes.

Next Discussion? Should we do it in order? If so Brinstar is next. If anyone thinks we should start with a different one, go ahead and suggest. But I don't want to see like 5 different people give a synopsis on 5 different stages.

Maybe Delfino Plaza? It's a bit more commonly seen. Plus we will have 'transformations' to talk about.

Alright, I'll take a few more suggestions. If everyone agrees with Delfino, that's what we're going to discuss.

EDIT: Still waiting for Chis's ideas.

Could we do Frigate Orpheon first? It's probably the most simplest CP out there, it only has two stage transformations and not too many things to consider like Delfino.

Yeah but Frigate Orpheon flips the whole stage upside down which can ko some one defino has no hazards.

That's true, but Delfino has more stages than Frigate Orpheon does. FO is just a two-part stage, and a lot of things have to go really wrong before the stage flip kills anybody. Delfino is a bit more complex with multiple main platform platforms and walk offs and Water. It would take a decent amount of time to cover it all.

Let's go with Defino, lots of options there, lots of stages, commonly seen, needs to be done.

We should only do the least frequentely seen/banned stages for later, right now we have to get the most-picked/"fun" stages out of the way first.

Alright, Delfino is the winner. It's going to be tough to discuss this one though, but I agree with the breakdown of different parts. I'll try to find pictures of each form so we all know where we are, but we should all know what the beginning looks like right?

First Part:
My Opinion: It's almost, sorta, kinda, (not really) like Battlefield, but you can go through the bottom platform if you're coming from underneath it. This is good to mix up recovery options or underneath the stage juggling (risky, but sometimes works). Not too much to say right now, but Imma get started on those pictures.

This stage is great for sonic's recovery. To not get the spring punished, just get the height right, spring, nair at highest and land immedeatly auto canceled.
I'll come back to this stage later

Green greeans is like Corneria but green and better.

:093:
Sweet, but right now we're doing Delfino Plaza, maybe we can hit that one next.

EDIT @X580: A great background doesn't really affect Sonic's preformance...
@Chis: Is the glitch what Tenki just stated? Otherwise I don't know what else there is.

Lylat cruise affects my performance vs some characters, because the background is dark for the most part, and I'm colorblind.

Then one where you sink though the stage at certain points of the journey.
oh, that.

It's not an 'exploitable' glitch though, is it?

it's only happened to me once, but not on Delfino.

PS. the "YOSHI'S ISLAND" in the title is confusing D;
PPS. Green Greens gives you items, and you can like, set of bombs without getting hurt lol. It's cool. Also, if you write its initials, it's GG. gg.

You mean like when the stage fades away as you're entering another section?

EDIT: Fixed title
