Old man coming out of his house to complain about things...well not really.

Like any console, I'm gonna sit and wait. Like any console, I'm gonna wait for a price drop and a healthy stack of games before I buy.

I know that I'm not going to be particularly excited for Wii U until some solid Smash Bros info starts to come out.

I'll use that time to finally buy a 360 or PS3 and catch up on all the current gen games I didn't play

♥ Darkstalkers 2 for Wii-U? Really? I'd like to REALLY see this in action, although it should also come out on PS3 IMO.

Well.....has anybody bother to pick up the Skyward Sword Bundle that includes the Golden Wii-Mote? I might end up picking this up today before it becomes impossible to track down due to Black Friday lol...

I guess Operation Rainfall worked after all. Now if only The Last Story and Pandora's Tower were confirmed . . . .

omfg yesssss...

wait what the hell, why gamestop only?
Gamestop's sales have been lower than anticipated.

I'm assuming this was a deal they set up in order to draw attention to their name brand and servicing.

I will most likely be purchasing on Nintendo.com, them.

I do not support Gamestop and most of their business practices.

I for one am excited at the prospect of a HD Wii and although we're getting claims of 50% better than the PS3, I'm still skeptical. On the other hand, I understand Nintendo doesn't want another "FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARS" fiasco. All I ask for is quad core and a GPU from the last two generations, although I hear rumours of it being based on 2008 architecture which is a shame.

All that being said, I don't think this will be a Day 1 purchase. Sway me Nintendo, sway me!

Holy crap you're ancient. Member for 10 years?? o.0
It's more likely than you think. I can't believe this is the original Revolution thread from 6 years back to be honest.

Well if you're like any Nintendo fanboy, just slap a Mario or Zelda title, and bingo. :troll:

But seriously, It's probably gonna be 300-350 simply because of the tablet controller. Then if you also include the wii motion plus with it (which is a 40 dollar controller. Nun-chuck is 20) then...yeah, it adds up.

That's a lot of money. Yet it's hell of a lot worth it.
I'll be looking out for promise coded and coupons/deals one irmt had been released in stores.

Or, just wait for another black Friday.

Iunno, I wouldn't have minded if he stepped down. Yes, he is Miyamoto and he's a genius at making games, but really, he's getting old. Someone has to fill up his shoes someday, and there has to be someone capable of continuing on his legacy of games

As long as it isn't Sakurai. :troll:

I'm torn between whether or not I should get the Wii U at launch. On one hand, it may be a fantastic system with a fantastic launch library. On the other hand, it may not have a strong launch in terms of titles. Sure, you have Arkham City, Darksiders 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3, but those games are already on PS3 and 360, so the way I see it, I'll purchase a Wii U at launch if Zelda, Mario, or Metroid happens to be one of their launch titles.

I probably won't get the wii-u at launch, but whenever it is they release a mainstream Mario game, I'm up for it.

I hope main Mario titles keep being well done for years to come, even if/when Miyamoto leaves...Want to see my grandchildren playing Mario

Nah man **** Mario I want my grandchildren to be playing CoD when I get some. That'll teach them what real life and the army is all about

I can't help but wonder how gaming will change by then though. I just want to get to the point where I get inserted into a virtual reality like all those movies do already

Call of Duty representing what real life and the army is all about . . . lol

It will be really strange once series last longer than a few generations. Sure, they can just update games to be relevant, but what happens when sequals get to ridiculous numbers?

Will they still be praised for sticking to their original formulas, or panned because of the lack of originality?

I feel like CoD is already getting that. Hence why publishers need to stop demanding companies that games come out every year.

At the same time, if the customer will buy, not much you can do about it. We're talking about kids, teens, and gamers in general who can be impatient when it comes to waiting for games.

Uncharted 3 was a disappointment for me, so I would easily wait another year if it meant a better product.

The PS2 era was the era of RPG. This generation is FPS. It's hard for me to think it will change otherwise when the newer consoles come out.

It's already been denied by Nintendo, he is not stepping down.
I think that's because a few hours after people found out, their stock dropped a decent amount xD

Also I have heard that Nintendo are having trouble deliving what they promised for the Wii U.

What do you guys think about this?

Think they will get it done?

Yes, they're planning on "re-introducing" the Wii U at E3 2012 since a lot of people were confused.

At most, the Wii U will cost $300 and at least, $250. $275 would be the sweet spot IMO since it's "more powerful" than the 360/PS3.

I've only had my xbox 360 for 3 years and I'm already tired of all the different fps games. I still like them but I would like more variety. Luckily november had a decent number of non-FPS games. Anyway, I'm hoping the Wii U will be $300 or below. I'm hoping Nintendo focuses on their main games like mario, zelda, f-zero, etc. rather than those crappy motion games like cooking mama and **** like that.

Throughout the Wii's cycle, Nintendo came out with a "legitimate" game for each or most of their old school IPs. They had a game for Metroid, DK, Kirby, Mario, and Zelda. I know a lot of fans want to see a new Pikmin (sounds like a game that would be fun on the tablet), and it feels like it's been a while since we last saw a Yoshi game as well.

But yeah overall, I think the console is gonna be priced at 300, since they can get away with it. They don't want to go ahead and lose money when selling their console. I'll still wait for a price drop.

Yeah, but that's Australia though, things tend to be more pricey outside of North America, I'm guessing that a good price range will be in between $320-$450 with accessories and everything included, plus games are likely to be either $50-$60 bucks depending on the game.

Australian video game products always end up pricey. Video games can easily go for 100 =/. It's a shame, because it just enforces pirating imo.

Normally, I would have said that a video game console would never be $600 but then I immediately think of the PS3 at launch...
