I recently watched the Alex vs Estradon video again and wondered how Estradon is able to perform so many jump jump cancels at 3.15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9704hCuOkxs

My maximum is maybe 5 or 6 in a row. Is there a trick to perform it consistantly?
Pressing one c-button in machinegun style seem not working very well.
I don't play Yoshi, but my guess would be c-button of your choice along with using R.

It's not a DJC. It's a jump jump cancel isn't it? So there's no R or A required to perform this.
I tried it different ways. Sliding also works of course. But not that fast like mashing one button for multiple cancels

You can mash if you're good enough at mashing. It works with my method where I vibrate my hand into a button.

im presuming he means where you press the button and tense your entire arm so it shakes, it's how most people mash in mario party and the like

Yeah I know what you mean and I do this too. I'm really good at button mashing. Well I think I just need to practise more till my thumb breaks

Yeah, that's what I meant. Most people, really? I've only met one other person IRL who does this.

Tim: if you attack after a DJC fast enough, it will appear as a DJC cancel since attack doesn't have time to come out. So, just slide from right c to down c to a, à la Ness, as AA said.

AA sounds like arachidonic acid.

So you're a fatty nobody cares about? You said it yourself :). JK.

Well we do care about it in the cyclooxygenase and lipooxygenase pathways and stuff... That's getting far from Yoshi though.

So who slides to do regular DJCs with Yoshi? Is it any useful anyway?

Seriously. Makes them fly back at like 0%, and is a great harassment shield poke. Yoshi's just one big LAWL xD

On topic. When finishing a bnb Yoshi combo, I sometimes like using dsmash instead of ftilt>fair/run off fair.

Or if I'm feeling REALLY frisky, I'll use dtilt

I see Isai use D-smash a lot to end his combos. Looks cool, and that move has nice knockback, making edgeguarding really easy (or not needed at all).

I learned dash attack -> dsmash at the edge combo from SilentSlayers if they're too close to comfortably land a fair, but you could probably land low ftilt -> fair in those situations so yeah

Also the best thing about Yoshi's dtilt is wall infinites :troll:

Was that the kind of drawing Star King promised us?

Doesn't ducking improve your ability to parry someone's air attack, because when you press Z the parry hitbox essentially "jumps" up from the ground? Like...

|
|
|DUCKING <- Your hitbox is short

Turns into

|PARRYING
|PARRYING <- Your hitbox is suddenly 3x as tall or whatever
|PARRYING

When the enemy is at this height:

|ENEMY
|
|

So at the frame you parry, the other guy is above your ducking hitbox, but "gets hit" by your parrying hitbox.

I've never read anything about that, but I've seen Sossi lie becrouchédly in wait for an airborne opponent, then parry the air attack and beat the poor guy up. I basically assumed that he did that to pop the parry hitbox up from the shorter crouching hitbox... seemed logical...

In the tier list thread it was decided it was even, slightly in Falcon's favor. I now think its definitely in Falcon's favor.

Yoshi def. > Mario. It's all about those high tier matchups.

Reasons? I would be curious to know what you thought.

It's weird, I think of Falcon as a Yoshi counterpick, but honestly it's pretty even. It's like BARELY in Falcon's favor. At least that's how I've felt about the match up for a while.

Also Mario>Falcon. Just sayin'.
