The Inklings will hypothetically shoot ink at their foes in Smash, right? Is it really gonna harm anybody other than themselves?

I'd say it should really be like Fox's Blaster or Bayo's guns, so no knockback and not really the same kind of range but it uses the same type of physics from Splatoon where the ink abruptly stops and falls. When it hits the ground it should only positively affect the Inkling who shot the ink, as opposed to negatively affecting opponents cause that might be a hassle to balance.

Diddy's shenanigans forced you to trip, the way I see it, the character in ink just slows down a lot. Would be interesting in doubles and FFAs, that's for sure

Anyway, I would've said someone from Shining Force, but that's owned by Sega now. Was part of Nintendo's own company set(same people who made Golden Sun).

I guess Isaac(Golden Sun) could count, but it's hard to say if he's just that minor. He was able to get an AT role, after all.

Gourmet Guy from Paper Mario. I never really play with final smashes on, but it'd be funny if he did that crazy run around the screen like he did whenever he ate a perfectly delicious cake.

Krystal. Unless there's a new Star Fox game where she plays a large role by the time the next roster starts being conceptualized, her chances are slim. Best she has going for her would be her performance in the Ballot, but there's no telling how well she did without public results.

Also, Sceptile. Favorite overall Pokemon, and would complete the starter type trio. Best chance he had was back when Ruby and Sapphire were getting remade. Would be more than happy to see Decidueye, though.

I think some of the omissions from this poll were strange. Namely the lack of anything from Pokémon or Fire Emblem, series with huge casts.

Well the candidates had all been voted on over the month and there just wasn't a winner from those series. Buuut I will say that I sort-of avoided veteran series this month for the most part. If you look, the only veteran series mentioned are DK, Metroid, Wario & Sonic.

Pokémon: Snorlax, Marowak, Qwilfish, Castform, Shiftry, Chandelure, Ribombee...tons really.
Fire Emblem: Tiki (depending on how minor we're talking), Merric, Virion, Frederick, Boey, Mae, any Pegasus Knight (I'll go with Clair since I enjoy her as a character the most)

So far that's all I can think of that are severely unrealistic with minor roles in their own games.

The vast majority of my most wanted characters I want because they're major characters in their series. I just have a few from the Marioverse:

• I'd put Toadsworth on here, but I prefer Captain Toad since his introduction

Still being "balanced" as if Sheik was part of her moveset, Zelda had no chance in the metagame by this decision of design alone.

I think the chances of an Arms character goes up the longer we wait for a Smash Bros Switch announcement.

I mean Splatoon came out after Smash Bros for Wii U didn't it? So we were only really considering them in terms of DLC. The timing didn't seem right. Arms on the other hand is already released and by the time Smash Bros Switch releases it'll probably have been out for at least a year. (if not more)

- Trace, Rundas and Weavel (Metroid)
- Funky Kong (Donkey Kong)

Let's ignore how people who hate Roy have genuine criticisms and it's not some meme. Otherwise one could say his popularity in the west only happened because "OMGGGG ROYS OUR BOIIII" and fire sword

I mean personally I'm pretty neutral toward Roy. Not terrible, not amazing. A Binding Blade remake would definitely help him out though, I think.

Best growths in his game, strongest weapon in his game and rivalling FE7's Armads for best weapon of GBA FE, amazing support options, he's only hindered by his late promotion. Which is also a thing that hinders at least one of your FE7 Lords, making even Hector a lot less useful.

Roy is no Ike, but he's a better unit than people give him credit for.
