The initial project name for Smash's prototype before it was Ryuoh was "Pepsiman" because the generic character models resembled him, so Smash should go full circle and include him as a fighter as a nod to Smash's origins :V

The first reason why he was involved in Smash requests/speculation is because he's a legitimate fighter, not because he's a meme figure, unlike Shrek or Spongebob.

I think that Nintendo need to improve the Smash Bros Fighter Ballot next time, but due to one person getting repeated votes for the character, makes us think that this Ballot was a fraud.

Seriously, if the Ballot doesn't include one vote for person, we won't have Bomberman in Smash Bros, like this video:

Pretty sure you meant to tag IAmMetaKnight considering how dedicated he was to Magolor and he made the old thread for him, but Magolor would be a really fun character, he has the most fun potential out of the possible Kirby characters.

It excites me to see any new character get in because I know that no matter how obscure or unwanted that character might seem, there's always gotta be a fanbase for that character that totally flips out to see said character get in. That said, the reason I go out of my way to only support characters like Magolor is because I don't feel the need to support the most wanted, most fan-favorite, or even my own personal favorite characters. To be completely honest, I don't think Smash even needs new characters. At this point, the only characters I really want enough to support are the ones who legitimately have something to offer the game in terms of new mechanics. While it can be said that a lot of characters are "eligible" or "unique enough," if we're honest with ourselves, I think we can all say that there are few new characters that would actually add something tangible to the game. It stinks that some of the more memorable ones will likely get left to trophy status, *cough* *cough* K. Rool *cough* but I don't think anybody has a real reason to be upset when one looks at the sheer number of unique and fun characters the roster already has. I wouldn't mind if the current roster is all we get for the next eternity; as long as every character has something to offer and there aren't too many carbon copies, *cough* *cough* Lucina *cough* this will always be the best roster we can get no matter who it's lacking.

unrelated (again) with the current subject.. but I had a dream, two days ago, about Smash4 port on the Switch: ~I don't remember other specifics other than Snake was coming back... and it was even a bigger deal than I thought, because his expensive voice actor was returning to record new lines and all new codecs for the whole cast of playable characters in Shadow Moses Island. Other than that.. he seemed pretty much what he was in Brawl, but with a cooler model, with brighter colors.

It was funny.. I never cared about Snake, and actually don't think he's returning at any capacity nor really want that (I think the odds for Bomberman now are bigger than any considerations in Snake's favor)

I remember having a dream in the past that was a trailer for Dillon (this was before he was revealed as an Assist).
Never played his games, just knew of him because I've seen stuff from Directs and what people talked about on the boards.
Yet I had a vivid dream of a trailer for him. Complete with him using some techniques I learned later were actually from his game. That was freaky.


I also remember one dream about seeing what looked like a link to Greninja's character page on the bottom slider on profiles, and he had character artwork that resembled his Sugimori art but in 3D.

Then the April Smash Direct happened and.....

If we're on the subject of dreaming about Smash Bros. (perhaps we need some help if we're even dreaming about it ), I had a particularly odd one about Rambi being the next DK rep of all characters.

I was confused but ended up being really excited anyway, and then I guess I woke up from sheer hype. Then I just sort of sat in bed for a minute and went back to sleep.

To be honest, the idea of a character playing an instrument or humming along to their own victory theme is a nice touch that'd probably sell me a little on the idea as well. Now I'm kind of surprised it hasn't been done yet.

No joke. i said it before somewhere but I had a dream about Paper Mario fighting Bowser Jr and somone else on Peach64 until Paper Bowser fell out of the sky and joined in for a few secs. Then i woke up. it was a nightmare really...

Yeah, one thing that upset me was that they got our hopes up lol.

I'm pretty sure when Banjo was being talked about, our reactions were 'not gonna happen', and some Nintendo rep stepped in, and reiterated that everyone was an option at that point.

It was exciting, but it was pure PR, and really i think everyone knew our options were much more limited than that, we just wanted to believe.

Personally, I don't like having the rug pulled out of under me, and really if he was only considering like 20 or so characters, I would've appreciated knowing who they were, so I could vote accordingly. Getting my hopes up for that long for characters that probably had no chance at all was not fun.

The only Smash dream I ever had was a reveal for Chrom as a playable character...but he was called Post-War Chrom. He was literally Chrom after the war, so he didn't wield the Falchion. He wore cargo shorts and a polo, and fought using a garden hose.

I had one that literally blew my mind. Greninja and Sheik were fight in these thick Japanese woods, having a casual match. Then suddenly, a massive froggo crushes the tree branch the two were one. A familiar "Shinobi Transformation" can be heard. I was breathless, anticipating something big. And there was Asuka bursting into the scene with both a dazed Sheik and Greninja glance after her landing.

Turned out they not only incorporated the game's transforming mechanics (each state dictating her defense and strength), but the clothing damage is there. She would be like Arthur, having her transformations to gain her attire back slowly after she's completely defenseless. Complete with the Ultimate Form as a Final Smash, long flowing hair included.

Speaking of Arthur, he also had a surprise reveal at the end. Challenging her to duel until she broke his armor easily, leading to a cute scene of her laughing at his boxers. The fight between the noble knight and nimble shinobi was a dream team that I never thought I wanted, but then knew it had to happen.

All that's missing is SNK's Athena and you've got the armor breaking trio. Throw in Ryu Hayabusa and you've got a proper ninja trio as well. (Sheik could easily count and is heavily influenced by ninjas but she isn't really referred to as one. A quartet of ninja's is just as fine, better even, but I just want to keep it rounded off in trios for no real reason in particular. )

We're talking Smash Bros related dreams? I had plenty.

- A Roy reveal trailer about a month before he was actually revealed.

- A Wolf reveal trailer some weeks before the Final Broadcast Direct. In that dream there was also some weird characters who I didn't recognize. One was a young girl that looked like she belonged in Kingdom Hearts and the other was a black guy that looked like he was from Street Fighter.

- Multiple Andy reveal trailers because he's obviously my most requested. I recall one where he was revealed fighting a whole bunch of characters at once and was using all his units from the Advance Wars games. Then I had another dream where Andy was revealed for Super Smash Flash 2 and that one was the most vivid out of them all and looked real as all hell. Was super pissed off when I woke up from the dream lol.

Years ago I once had a dream where Captain America was in Brawl with his MvC moveset and you had to fight him on Shadow Moses Island to unlock him for some reason... Not my first choice for a non-video game character, but okay...

I remember 10-15 years ago (long before Brawl was announced) I had a dream that Mickey Mouse was in Smash and I jumped with joy. Mickey Mouse was based on Mickey Mousecapade (NES) and The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse (SNES)... he had Minnie Mouse following him around and throwing stars at enemies... and he could jump on enemies to stun them and then spin them like a toy top... and his stage was Treetops.

The only notable smash related dream I can recall was one all the way back during Brawl speculation. Although it was very hazy though so all I can remember of it was a still image of Ness and three other characters on Brawl battlefield (cant remember who those other three where though) the freaky thing was though that Ness's design matched exactly to what he actually looked like in Brawl since I had that dream before he was revealed for that game.

I'm fairly sure I had more Smash related dreams in the past but I just can't remember them at the moment....

One noticeable dream I had once about Smash involved my boy being revealed roughly in the same way as his actual trailer, only with more and different characters.

To make this semi-relevant to the topic, here's a moveset for Mario in a Mario Kart Mario:
EDIT: Of course, if you ditch the Kart this can also be a moveset for Karty Party staples like Toad, Waluigi and Daisy

Neutral B: Shell Throw
Mario in a Mario Kart Mario throws a either a green, red or blue shell.
What shell he throws is determined by how much he's behind
He throws a Green shell when he has the lead
He throws a Red Shell when he's <50% behind the player in first
He throws a Blue Shell when he's >50% or a stock behind the player in first.

Green Shell is affected by gravity and slides over the floor
Red Shell is less affected by gravity and homes in on the opponent weakly (Though doesn't follow as strong as in Melee)
Blue Shell homes in very strongly on the player in first and explodes on impact

Side B: Mushroom
Mario in a Mario Kart Mario uses a Mushroom, blasting his Kart forward at high speed

Up B: Glider
The kart opens its glider, allowing Mario in a Mario Kart Mario to glide

Down B: Banana
Mario in a Mario Kart Mario drops a Banana.
Opponents can slip on a Banana

I've had multiple Smash dreams since 64 was revealed (Grow up, KniteBlargh! xP), but don't really remember anything about most of them. I know my most recent Smash dream was about this coming E3 (a few months back)... I was glued to my screen with anticipation, and then that screen slicing animation we all know and love happened, and I was so dang excited, I woke up, told myself to get a life, and went back to sleep feeling very disappointed. I hate cliffhangers, unless they're Ice Climbers... (<o<; )

As much as I support her I wouldn't say her chances are that bad but they're not that good either.
Her staff certainly helps her chances, and Adventures has enough material to easily create a moveset, complete with unique gimmick if they feel it's necessary (magic gauge) and hasn't Sakurai commented on her inclusion before? Something about time constraints holding her back?

After missing out on Zero, she already has to fight with minimal recency, but also wolf would probably take priority at this point.

I can see them both being added. Wolf and Falco wouldn't take that much time to be added at all thanks to being semi-clones and Starfox is iconic enough as a Nintendo series to get 4 reps at this point. Wolf would likely be more priority though so it's either Wolf and Krystal or just Wolf.

As far as I know, the only comments Sakurai has made about Krystal are regarding Brawl, and how Wolf was included over her since he was easier to make since he was based on Fox and Falco
