Day 20: CastleVania Dominus Collection
Behold, the best collection of classic games on Switch! You get Dawn of Sorrow, a cool game held back by magical seals now no longer held back by ****ty touch controls for the magical seals! Portrait of Ruin, which asks the bold question of "Hey what if we made Symphony of the Night but also made like Super Mario 64 with paintings and ALSO gave you two characters" and we get Order of Ecclesia, my favourite of the series! This lovely collection also includes Haunted Castle, the kinda not great arcade game that had absolute bangers reused in these games and... Haunted Castle! But this time, remade to be a more fun ride! These games are just very fun to run around in and explore in, constantly finding new weapons, Souls or Glyphs to experiment with (I'd say the same for Portrait of Ruin but haha Ice Needle and Shuriken go brrrrrr) and plenty of tricky fights against all sorts of cool monsters. All the DS games are absolute bangers and in my eyes, the peak of CastleVania. Also holy **** the music's all bangers, mmm mmm mmm! From Haunted Castle's Cross Your Heart, Dawn of Sorrow's Into The Dark Night, Portrait of Ruin's Hail to the Past and Order of Ecclesia's Rhapsody of the Foresaken... These games are absolutely fantastic and for the DS games? There's loads of replayability as there's a bunch of extra modes, Julius Mode which lets you play Dawn of Sorrow without the seals alongside Alucard and Yoko Belnades, Sisters Mode or Richter Mode which lets you play as 2 bosses or Richter Belmont and Maria Renard in Portrait of Ruin or Albus Mode in Order of Ecclesia. Now you too, can enjoy playing as a teleport spamming boss! These games are ****ing excellent and I cannot praise them enough, go play them when possible, I had the 3 DS games physically but still screamed when this was announced in that direct. Fun times...
